firstly @mike smith.... u r a pure cock!!! how many doorstaff do you actually know? ive been one for 14 years and granted, maybe 2% have egos but the other 98% certainly do not.
this video on the other hand is spot on, well done :-)
Nice vid, some people can come across as ok and want to skake your hand and even being aware can't prevent them attacking you, in my case he bit my neck.. I learnt to keep my left hand higher when shaking hands.
I done the D.S.P with this guy as a the tutor, got the full dvd and and everything in it is relevant to the job. as he says theres absolutely no need for it to get to the violance stage if your alert and aware. main points he puts across in the course 1) look out for your own safety, 2) your co workers safety, then look after everyone else.
I found this a very good vid and I've been on doors for 10 years. - pay no attantion to all the knobs comments. You know who you are, not mentioning any names "purple-headed-sprocket" and "mike-i'm so hard-smith".
Moving off to the side and taking his elbow as explained here will also help negate the biggest threat from a handshake, namely that a more experienced trouble maker may pull you suddenly. Being pulled out and down at an angle makes you extremely unstable and will amplify the impact of a punch. Great presentation here.
@mikesmith1007 says the non bully!! need putting in their places eh!! until you have 3 guys wanting to rip shit out of you....then we're you best pals then.....what a knob!!
@mikimegacar carrying a knife great idea -.- allowing yourself to be arrested for carrying a weapon and even managing to get the wep taken off you and used against you. :(
This really works! A female colonel in the marine corps taught me the index finger thing from when she would meet male marines and they would try to crush her hand. Needless to say, it was very important that they not crush her hand...
I knew about the triger finger principle, but you did offer some other good tips. One may want to disguise some of this, because it would seem very rude....obviously this hand shake is for strangers, and not people you know and trust. FIVE STARS
