All I remember about this was them gorgeous girls on TOTP cavorting around wearing crazy tashes. Really mad, totally uplifting. Tickles me ever time I hear it!
It seems to me, I vaguely recall, some bi-centennial celebration TV special in the summer of 1976 which featured this song in a huge production number. Does this sound familiar? a huge stage, decked out in lots of red, white & blue bunting with prominent use of stars and stripes, dancing girls in red, white & blue outfits, in a chorus line as Uncle Sam comes out singing "you've got the cutest little baby face" to The Statue of Liberty! It ends with some fire works to huge audience applause.
i have this in 45 singles... and would play this over and over including the long version. thank you so much for sharing because i have been looking for this for years... makes me reminisce my adolescent days.
@Kimmell2010 I agree. It's been almost 35 years since I last heard this tune. Well...... I probably heard it on Americas 100 year countdown in December, 1976 one time when Kasey Casem used to play the most popular 100 at years end. I remember hearing this January 18, 1976.

They hit #14 in Billboard, 3-6-76. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

This was a very popular tune, which seemed to die off after 1976 and we never heard it again.
