WHAT A TALENT!! Can sing, can compose songs, and also can p[lay several insturments. How many "rock 'n' rollers" can you say that about? (I'm sure that he can sing, dance and act as well!)
Marita, pää pystyyn ! Palaat vielä You Tubeen, olen aika varma. Rakastan Sinua yhtä kaikki, ja Sinullakin on tunteet. "Sinun Johnnysi/ Mr.Moonisi" ei unohda "Lady Sunshinea, Mamaa". Rakkaudella xxxxxxx
Wasn't Paul Anka the first pop idol to write his own songs? Just like the upcoming bands and al most every act that followed? I resent the fact that those musicians don't pay tribute to Paul Anka. He is the true teen idol. For me, Paul Anka has always been in the heights of the Olympus! Thanks for posting Paul Anka, more popular than Elvis or any other in Latin America.
@aghnifrid you are perfectly right he was and is still the greatest. You will be surprised to read generally unknown facts about his music about his life on my multiply site "paulankathebest" any Paul Anka fan is welcome. Just follow the link from my profile.
@wad44 OHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I remember all his music, I grew up with it, slow dances. High school, parties, innocence of youth!! Does it even exsist anymore? C McD

First time I heard PA was when I was in Grade 4. He was singing Diana. It was love at first "hear". I devoured all his subsequent compositions. On vacation with my aunt in summer of '61, I brought with me my Paul Anka LP (I think it was titled 21 Greatest Hits) and fell in love with "Summer's Gone". I regret having neglected to save my 45s and LPs of Paul Anka. Now I have to scramble for CDs and remixes. Verboten is also a favorite.
@jnm100kph It happened the same with me, but I kept collecting his songs and at this moment I have almost every officially released song by Paul Anka. Surely you will enjoy many of them on my Multiply website.
Paul Albert Anka; born July 30, 1941, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada;son of Andrew Emile, Sr. (a music executive) and Margaret (some sources say Camilia; maiden name, Tannis) Anka; married Anne Alison DeZogheb (a model), February 16, 1963 (divorced, October 2000)
@jhvandehey , yes it's the ABC Paramount version, always preferred by me. Those were the days!! We are lucky to lived in those years of true feelings and really talented artists. No doubts, these days there are talented people too, but they are hard to found, great talent nowadays is not enough for success.
Wot 2 do i`m left here just crying.Brilliant post i got a Paul Anka tape from my bro wen i was 10 Loved Put ure head on my shoulder, crazy love n more but neva heardv this b4 x Love it.
End of summer is in the air ..and today I remembered this hit...and listening to it again after so many decades brings back all the joy from those days.
Summer 1960, senior year coming and I moved from Detroit to Los Angeles. Big mistake. Bright lights and big city not for "Greaseball Jr". I sure miss that old gang of mine(Guys I hung with). I am just a "Blue Collar" Motown kind of fella. Paul Anka said it best. Summer is gone. I wax poetic. Beautiful song and Anka is nothing but great.
you guys that commented on this have great taste in music! Almost anything between 54' to 62' is great music! Thanks for the post & keep on posting this good music especailly if it's off the original 45!
Wow! I graduated from high school in the U.S. in 1957 as a foreign student. This song brings back fond memories. My heart pounded again after 51 years remembering my sweet 17 year old girl then. Her name was Karen. If she reads this she'll remember how much we enjoyed it together and will surely know who I am. I wish her the best!!!
Thanks for posting- I've been searching for this song for a long time. Will you be so kind to post "I Love Paris" too ? Thanks in advance and more power to you.
This is Pauls first recording of this gem, the second recording he made is more saloonish, like in the style of Sinatra. If you listen close, you can here the influence Sinatra had on this multi talented song writer/singer. I have seen Anka twice in concert, as far as entertainers are concerned, he is the best.
Thank you for your kind comment, someone was looking for this song, that's why I uploaded it. I always like more the ABC Paramount versions of his songs. Sometimes there is a big difference (like Diana or I Love You Baby), and sometime it's hard to notice the difference, (like You Are My Destiny). Anyway, I like better always the first, original versions recorded at ABC Paramount
I love this song!!! I thought it was Eve that posted this at first until I looked over and seen it was you! I actually can never decide which version I like better...this one or the RCA version. They are both great!
awesome song of Paul Anaka

All-time favorite from Paul & It has to be the ABC Paramount version.
This had it all-great orchestration, nostalgic lyrics and beautiful melody creating such memories.
Can the music of the late 50's/early 60's ever be matched? I get lost in it. Doo wop, Motown, the girls' groups. Great stuff.
This was from 1960, my sophomore year in HS-when all I remember thinking about was girls; all I remember watching was Bandstand.
