@kayjay12321 What I do is I braid or twist the back laces together and thread them underneath the X's of the laces below the waist (it's easier to do this one X at a time instead of all of them at once). Then if there's any length left I'll tuck it under the bottom edge of the corset. I'll be doing a demonstration of this sometime in the next month or so. :)
i just recieeved my first corset and I've worn it a couple of times never tightening completely. But when I remove corset is wavy not smooth at all Does it ever go back to being flat? Or did I mess it up already :( It's an undeerbust from Timeless trends if it matters......
@unjugetito I have the brocade corsets from them and they always go back to laying flat; however I'm not sure how other finishes act, such as satin outer fabrics (which are prone to wrinkling). After you remove the corset you can lay it out flat on a desk or hang it to air out overnight; and see how it looks when you come back to it. If it's still bent and wonky you can gently curve it in the other direction to flatten it out again.
I have a question!!!!! Where do you get your corsets???????? and how expensive are they??? I am trying to get a corset because I am going to be Sleeping Beauty for Halloween and I want my waist to look somehow small. I am afraid to get a corset because I have this thought that it wont work, looking at your video it looks very beautiful. Any website that you might recommend?
@dolandgabba This corset I'm wearing in this video is from Timeless Trends; their corsets are usually $99 but I got this one on sale for $75. I started waist training in this corset so I almost always recommend people start with this brand. Once they get used to the feeling of a corset, if they want to continue training then they can invest in a made-to-measure custom corset, which is usually $250+
@whitewolf200 Measure around the smallest part of your waist which is usually an inch (or a little more) above your belly button. If your waist is, say, 26" then you would buy a corset in size 22 (which means 22" closed waist for the corset). It doesn't change much whether you're wearing the corset over or under clothing, unless the dress you're wearing is a very thick, heavy fabric.
@Anathiron I usually wear my corsets under my shirts to hide them. I'll wear them on the outside if I'm going to a party or filming a video (because people want to see the corset). When I wear my corset under my clothing, I'll wear a liner between my skin and the corset so it's more comfortable and my corset stays clean.
I have a quick question. I am very new to corsetting. I have a 34 inch waist and purchased a 30 inch underbust corset (as was recommended). When I tighten it, it closes at the very top although I still have a way to go along the waist line. Is it not small enough and should I go down a couple of inches more? Or should I continue to proceed with the corset I have and tighten gradually along the waist line?
@InNouterbeauty07 The corset would be considered "too big" only if you can close it all the way at the waistline. It's nice that you can close it all the way at the top though, because that means you shouldn't have any rib restriction or breathing issues when the corset is completely closed at the waist. When you tighten your corset try to make the back edges parallel (like || instead of /\ ) so there is even tension along the back.
@SenecaHouston The corset I'm wearing in this video I bought from Timeless Trends online. It's one of my favourite "starter" corsets. I have a whole playlist of corset reviews where I show the pros and cons of corsets from many different stores. :) Feel free to check them out if you like!
@bishonenrancher Thank you!! I just bought a corset and i was disappointed with a few corsets that i bought, so i think its wonderful that your doing reviews! I only wish there were reviews for the corsets i just bought. Thank you!! Ill check them out! <3
@bishonenrancher im getting a corset from timeless trends I cant wait im sick of sitting in the horrible classroom seats that give me a sore back and having to lean over chemicals for hours in a photo lab. I have a herniated disk so classroom chairs are unforgiving.
@FernandoTorrera Ooh ouch! I worked in a biochemistry/microbiology lab for years and it was also pretty bad for my back, leaning over chemicals. I hope the corset will give you some comfort and relief!
OMG!!! Thank you so so much...I have been trying to figure out how to tighten my first ever corset and nothing worked properly...Now I used your method and ...it works!!! Looks and feels ten times better!
@crazyaboutsquirrels Thanks! :) I have a video series called "Physical Effects of Corseting", you can find it as a playlist on my channel. Each video covers a different topic about how corseting affects the body and certain issues that may come up. If you corset too much too soon, they can be painful and harmful, but if you corset responsibly and carefully, they can sometimes do more good than harm.
Thank you so much for your videos! I have a question concerning waist training. I have a slight bump on my belly, like a slight curve fron my belly button if you looked at my profile. I was wondering if waist training would turn it into a pooch, like cathy jungs, thats not what im aiming for. It would be fantastic if you responded! Keep up the great videos :) !
@NavReddy848 Cathie Jung puts her corseting to extremes, thus the awkward bumps and such but if you are just reducing 2"-4", the busk should be able to hold your pooch back. I hope this helps!
@reidb18 Tying the laces around is bad for the corset; it causes the laces to rub against the fabric and wear out the corset right where it takes the most stress (at the waistline where it creates the most reduction) which weakens it and shortens the "life" of the corset.
Thank you! My spinal injury is *right* at my natural waist and I was having a problem with still having pain in that area due to the fact that I couldn't tie it to get enough support without tightening to the point of discomfort.
I just relaced my corset and popped it on. The double Xs in the back definitely help support that area a *lot* better than normal bunny ears.
omg i love you! lol thank you for posting this! i have had a problem with slight bulging in that area using the normal bunny ears lacing method and this will clearly eliminate the unsightly problem! =) now that this has been explained, i know i have seen this method before but never realized it was an alternitive method, silly me! again thank you so much!! your youtube has been nothing but an inspiration to me and my tightlacing journey. thank you for that =)
@BeautifulxObsessions Hooray! I'm glad I explained it clearly. Let me know if this method helped fix the bulge... and thank YOU for your continued support! ;)
Do you know any tecniques for how to hide the bow from the laces when wearing a corset under tighter clothing?
