  • Tenactians-Pit bulls DON'T have a locking jaw, in fact no dog does.

  • i used to work at camp bow wow, and your not susposed to open the gate thats in the middle of 2 play areas like they

  • i used to work at camp bow wow, and your not susposed to open the gate thats in the middle of 2 play areas like they do

  • I need a place to leave my puppy (3 month old lab) at for 2 days out of the week. How do I know this place will treat her well and not just throw her in a cage and take her out for 10 minutes. If that's the case, I can just leave her in a kennel all day long. There are many Doggy day cares in San Antonio, what does Camp BowWow have that they do not, and why should I leave my dog with you? Thanks :D

  • I am getting a wheaten terrior like in the video.

  • i like 1:38 and 1:56

  • We work with several experts in dog behavior to create policies designed to evaluate each dog on an individual basis. Camps look at the whole dog during this process. Breed type is only one of many considerations when qualifying a dog for camp. Dogs are bred for many different types of work; some are bred to be physically strong while others are bred for jobs requiring them to have dominant behavioral characteristics and/or tendencies.

  • Our Camps have an incredible safety record and we hold our franchises to the highest standards in caring for our Campers (including recording all play yard activity on our live web cams for review at a later time). Our strict policies are a key reason customers are so loyal to our brand.

  • We built our business and our foundation on improving the lives of our furry friends worldwide. When creating policies for our Camps, we first and foremost consider the safety, health and happiness of our Campers, second the wishes of our human clients, and third the welfare of our well respected and highly regarded brand.

  • Check our our new policy on our camper evaluation process and what is required of any dog who wants to be a camper at any Camp Bow Wow location:

Camp Bow Wow® welcomes all dogs based on their behavior and ability to handle the rigors of camp. It is not corporate policy to turn away a dog based on breed. Depending upon location there may be outside factors dictating who may be allowed in Camp, these may include:

    City Ordinances

    Insurance Policies

  • you know what people if you must love your pets then your dog love camp bow wow

  • I don't have a dog nor have i been to camp bow wow(that's because i live in Beijing,China) but i think if i ever move back to South Carolina where i kinda grew up,i would adopt a dog(that gives another poor dog a happy life) and take it to camp bow wow when I'm busy.

  • My Dog Jackson loves Camp Bow Wow. He has been a camper since he was a puppy. The staff is great and friendly. He comes back tired and happy!

  • Our dog Barkley loves Camp Bow Wow! She knows when we're going if I just say the name and she starts hyperventilating and runs to the door. She's so tired when we pick her up - it's great!

  • My dogs Emmitt and Scarlet are the loves of my love and they love Camp Bow Wow. I have a very busy work schedule and it's a comfort to know that while I am at work they are very busy playing and socializing. My vet says they are so healthy and in good shape, so all the play time is keeping them in great condition. Every time I check in on them on camera, there's someone watching over them in the yard!

  • Just took my new adoption dog Gunner and my other dog Libby to camp last week. Both had an awesome time and have been back two times since. They love it and I will take them back at least 1-2 times a week. They have so much fun and i can watch them while at work thru the web cams. My dogs are obviously happier, although zonked out, when they have been at camp. Big thumbs up on this place - if you haven't tried it and love your dog, you should take them for a day and try it out.

  • NO BREEDS ARE 'BAD' OR 'EVIL'

It's like saying some puppys are born bad,

With dogs, its how they're brought up - not their breed!

    IDIOTS!

  • I want to thank you Allysia02 for your words of wisdom. You are so right!! some people just cannot be reached. It is sad but we can't waste time trying to change their minds when they are already made up. We have to move on and try to make sure no more innocent lives are torn apart because of it.

  • To avoid any other comments about pitbulls, I want to say I WORK HERE NOW! <333 YAY!!! ^^

Also, I like pitbulls. ^^ I think it's the owners who screw up, not the dog. :3

  • There has been NO scientific study done proving pits are more dangerous than any other dog. There has been NO scientific study proving that pits are more likely to attack kids. Have you ever owned a pit? then your experience with them is very limited. Then who are YOU to say that my innocent dog who I took the time to train socialize and who has never hurt anyone or anything, what gives YOU the right to take her away and euthanize her. There are alternatives to BSL I wish you would consider them

  • when was the last time a bichon frise killed somone. probably never, pitbulls are prone to violence. when i was younger i was attacked my a pitbull for no reason. scientific studies are flawed, during the human rights marches scientists said they proved black people arent as smart as white people. many dogs can kill pitbulls just happen to kill more oftne

  • I am sorry you were attacked,if I had known I would have tried to be more sensitive and will rpomise to try to be from now on, but you say scientific studies are flawed but where then do you get your information from then, the media?

  • well you have to use exeriances and statistics not all science studys are flawed but you have to becareful because many science studies are bias, like product studies. the media would report if a poodle mauled somone so its not totally useless

  • yes but i think the problem is that when other dogs attack there would be one news story done in a local newspaper, when a pit attckas its national news. That is unfair, and the media frequently mis identifies dogs and incorrectly labels them as pits. The problem is the media can pick and choose which stories they are going to cover and they are going for ratings. The media just is not a reliable source its biased.

  • well if a small poodle killed a 14 year old boy that would probably get more attention then a pit bull.

According to the Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes are responsible for 74% of attacks that were included in the study, 68% of the attacks upon children, 82% of the attacks upon adults, 65% of the deaths, and 68% of the maimings.

  • The Clifton study is based soley off of newspaper clippings that he then tried to pass off as statistics. Clifton left out all dog attacks where the breed was "unidentifiable" or dogs who are used for guarding and police work. If you look at the data yourself and include ALL dog attacks in the time frame you get different results.

You cannot argue that scientific studies are flawed when other people try to use them and then turn around and use them to make your points. That is unfair.

  • i do belive that they are flawed but for the people who dont think there flawed then this can be proof for them. the media chooses wat to put on the tv but even my local news station has archives on their dog attacks and most of them were by pitbulls the other ones were either a pitbull or another dog with a small baby. the media isnt a huge conspiracy agasint pitbulls. i belive pitbulls can be trained but how can you say that they dont hurt people more if attacks by dogs are mostly by them

  • How do you personally know attacks are mostly by them? what are your sources? There is no national organization in the U.S. OR Canada that collects data on a systematic basis on the circumstances or specifics of dog bite-related injuries. Do you believe that the majority of pit bulls attack people? because they don't, most are good citizens, why do away with an entire breed because a small percentage of them had irresponsible owners.

  • i used my local news and they gave me all their dog storys and out of the 5 maulings we have had in the last couple of years they have all been by pit bulls

  • i dont mind people who have taken time to train their dogs and i dont think existing pitbulls should be killed. they should be grandfatherd in. how about if a dog kills somone the owner gets jail time. if government has proof that the dog is prone to violence they should be able to take it away. some pitbulls will never attack somone but again i ask when was the last time a bichon frise killed a teenager or an adult?

  • Italy has banned 92 breeds of dogs trying to control their dog bite issue because they saw it as a dog problem not a human problem. They ban one breed but still had attacks instead of finding a solution that actually solved the problem they continued to ban dogs. We are not saying that people who have dogs that attack people should not be punished, most pit bull owners agree in viscious dog laws as long as they are not breed specific.

  • if you just ban one breed you haven't solved your dog biting problem. What is teh point of banning the sweet pit down teh road when you have a viscious collie living next door? If you don't implement fair laws that hold ALL dog owners to the same type of responsibility then what really have you done to protect yourself.

  • Do we just wait around until a bichon frise attacks and kills someone and then call for a ban on that breed too until we end up like Italy with 92 breeds banned? There are so many other alternatives to breed bans that work. How about each communtiy come together and asses each dog that is in the community no matter what breed. Only then will that community be perfectly safe.

  • as i said most attacks happen when irresponsible owners did not follow laws are did not research their dog breed prior to getting it. How else do you account for the millions of dog owners out there whose dogs have never attacked? We need proper enforcement of existing leash laws, we need people to be more responsible and make sure they can meet the demands of their breed of choice we need good laws against irresponsible dog owners of all breeds.

  • i would feel fine with a 92 breed ban. if it inclueded my bichon frise i would be fine with that as long as they grandfathered it in. if they didnt i would just move. do you realize how long it would take and how much it would cost to asses each dogs impact and how violent it could be.

  • some dogs are prone to be violent. most dogs bite but thats as violent as they are. but they usually bite to defend their owners. pitbulls just attack for no reason.

  • they should be breed speceific, how can you defend the fact that most of the maulings are by pitbulls, you can say theres not studies anything like that but if you look at many statistics its mostly pitbulls.

  • you are a lost soul you have already determined that pits are evil. You said you would move if your Bichon was banned but moving is not always an option for everybody, do you ave a job? When the ban went into place in Denver 1000 innocent dogs lost their lives, that is something you support. You hate what you do not understand but hate never got anybody anywhere.

  • yes i do have a job. i would prefer 1000 dogs died then 1 person to get killed. i wouldnt be agasint pitbuls if they didnt kill so many people.

  • Wow. Dumbest thing I think

I've ever heard in my life. You are a freakin idiot if youd rather 1000 dogs die then 1 person!! Ever living things life is just as important as the next! And pitbulls only kill if they ar etrained to do that My family owns 3 pitbulls and they are sooo sweet! Go on ATTS(American Temperment Test Society) and look at pitbulls, more pitbulls past the tempernment test then americas 'beloved' golden retreivers!!

  • I do and I'm proud too!Ur unbeleivable if you think that all those animals desreve to die for 1 human life. Thats pathetic! Just look at ATTS! Seriously thats your proof! Its steriotypical that Pitbulls are mean, I hate all the people in the world that beleive that every dog is the same as the next in their breed!

  • your proud to be a product of inbreeding? most breeds are fine and the dogs in them usually have a couple of commen traits but thats usually the only commenality, pitbuls have been inbred for generations and are now prone to attacking other organism.

  • I completely agree....with sorrowfulxsoul! Its the peoples fault!! By training these dogs fight and abusing/neglecting them they've made a steryotype that the breed is violent and aggressive. Now I seriously want to hear what you saw on ATTS, if a pitbull is banned a goldenretreiver should be banned too, they scored les then the pitbulls!

  • you are an idiot. pitbulls are not prone to attacking other organism. Only some pitbulls attack, because they are trained to do so. It's not their fault that some of them are rewarded to be agressive. I am a dog walker, and one of my clients is an 7 year old pitbull, and not once have I ever had any type of problem with her... You can't even spell pitbull.

  • Ignorant PPL vote for BSL. And when I say ignorant i don't necessarily mean stupid...however if the boot fits. Lplaypsp, you are so worried about how epensive it would be to seperate dogs but do you knwo how expensive it is to implement BSL in a community?

  • thats two diffrent things though. the buisness would be the one adding the space, they have the right to deny service to any person/dog for any reason unless it discriminates their human rights. the government would pay for a ban to be enforced.

  • no YOU would pay for a ban to be enforced. Tax payers are the ones who are going pay.

  • obviously. thats how the government gets money. taxes wouldnt increase that much for them to enforce like they are doing already

  • actually it was they are investigating the ban in Colorado because on its not working and too its too expensive to implement, do some research already.

  • no buddy in MY town in canada they have banne pitbulls. since the ban theirs only 2 pitbuls left and there hasnt been a dog mauling since the ban. taxes only increased a small percentage.

  • good for you. We shall wait and see when a viscious labrador enters your area and see what happens then. Because you all took the easy way out it will come back to haunt you as it has done in other places. I live in America the home of the free, in American you are INNOCENT until proven GUILTY.

  • thats the american way let the dog kill somone and then do somthing. pitbulls as a breed have killed many people including 3 people in my town.

  • thing is i have a bichon frise so i doubt that its breed is gonna get banned. a 2 year old ya 14 year olds get mauled by pits not little dogs.

  • You don't like pits, that is your porocative. I just hope that when it comes time to fight for your dog, someone helps fight for you. I thank you for this discussion because it showed me just how much work we have to do. Good day and God bless.

  • well frankly its because their violent. not all are but they are very widely know for being violent. they wanted to say it nicely so it doesnt directly discriminate agasint the dogs. theres many diffrent dog day care services so if you dont like those rules then go to another one.

  • cocker spaniels and poodles are also widely known to bite,so what is your point? Does your dog have a mouth? But you know your right, we should just put out tails between our legs and go home, accpet the fact that we are discriminated against. I wonder what that attitude would have done for the civil rights movement.

  • DOGS ARENT HUMANS. ya little dogs bite but they dont have the power to hurt and kill like a pit bull. when was the last time a poodle mauled somone.

  • And yet a pomeranian was able to kill somone. It is simple ALL dogs can bite, Train your dog, socialize your dog and it won't bite, that is just common sense. I'm not sure why you ignored the information I gave you from the American Tempermant test society but I am used to this. A recent study showed that most of the dogs involved with maulings reported in the news were miss identified. Have you ever heard of nanny dogs? those are pits so called because they are GREAT with children.

  • yea all dogs can bite thats like saying all people can hurt. there has been 3 maulings in my area in the last 4 years they were all pit bulls. there banned in my province and i cant wait until its a national ban.

  • well thats fine, you are of course entitled to your opinion. And while some places grandfather in dogs, alot of places do not and innocent dogs will be destroyed. The Nethrlands just lifted their pit bull ban because it failed to increase the amnt of dog bites. A while back they were aginst german shepherds, then dobermans and rotweillers and now pits, the BSl list seems to grow every year now including great danes and shar pei's.

  • the ban failed to decrease the amnt of dog bites, sry.

  • I can't wait until you get banned. Any dog can bite. Any!!! My daughter was bit in the face by an Akita. My nephew had to get 54 stitches around his mouth. He was bit by a Lab. You're stupid.

  • and arent labs really big

  • well, they consider them medium but they are like the most popular family dog.

  • I'm sorry but 3 maulings in 4 years while unfortunate is NOT an epidemic. Cigarettes kill more people, bath tubs kill more people, cars kill more people, guns kill more people and horses kill more people. Compared to those BSL seems very silly don't you think.

  • ok well where i live in canada we have had 4 maulings 3 have been with a pitbull. yes there are other things that kill people but shouldn't we try to limit the number of deaths we can. i would prefer the whole pitbul race put down then the number of little kids getting mauled by these things.

  • If we are trying to limit the amount of deaths in kids then we should be attcking the things that kill them the most. How many kids die from drowning in pools or bathtubs, are injured by toys that they swallowed are killed by cars every year ar murdered by their own family members? It doesn't make sense to go after dogs? Your chances of being killed by a dog are roughly 1 in 8 MILLION. More people slip fall and die while using bathroom slippers!

  • BSL does NOT reduce the number of dog bites because its not a dog problem it is a people problem. Netherlands as i'm sure you know by now lifted their ban because it made no difference.

  • That being said would i leave young children unsepervised with ANY dog. NO, but thats just good parenting.

  • Um...my neighbors's 2 year old was severly disfigured by a poodle. They are the most stuck up and moody breed along with most small breeds. They're just as nasty. They couldn't save your life if you were attacked by someone trying to rob your house, but a pit can. Te dog owner is the teacher of bad behavior.Thank you

  • thats a good point but i think some dogs are just prone to being aggressive

  • If this camp had any brains, they would have seperate areas for dogs that don't get along with other dogs. the only reason pits get a bum rap is because the media is so quick to report as a "pitbull attack". If another breed attacks someone they just say "dog bite". In my state, chows and dalmations (yes, the cute dog with the spots are listed as one of the top aggressive dogs) have bit more people than pits.

  • thats costs more money and they would need employees specific for that area which wouuld cost mmore money

  • Camp Bow Wow does not accept pit bulls, even though on its website it says it respects all breeds. The reason they give is because pit bulls are a very energetic and playflu breed and their facilities are not equipped to keep them. Does that make sense? Jack russels are extremely energetic do you discriminate aginst them too? I and other loving concerned dog owners are working hard to fight the discrimination that is BSL but it seems like we have a long way to go!

  • You need to go to their website and read what it said. It said NOTHING about insurance it said because they are too ENERGETIC and they would not be able to take care of them, and THAT is ridiculous. I also know of many doggy day camps that seem able to accept pit bulls so why can't they, riddle me that.

  • Also, there are around 25+ breeds affected by BSL currently in the US, many of which are illegal or restricted in some cities, but camp bow wow accepts them. It is my understanding that camp bow wow also evaluates each dog before they are accepted, why can't they do that for pit bulls as well.

  • @ferretnation88 Pitbulls have something called "lock jaw" its where they get into a fight with another dog and there jaws become "locked" you have to pry it open with your hands, very dangerous situation for the dogs and staff alike.

  • yea where i live many towns and citys are beginning to ban them but thats not why they dont take them. the dogs that are alive are grandfathered in. i dont want my dog by a pitbull because ive seen first hand wat they can do. have you ever seen a bichon frise maul somone? niether have i

  • go look and see what it said on their website I have ALREADY quoted why they say they won't take them because they are too energetic that s from their website, so if I listen to what you say camp bow wow are liars.

  • further more, just because you have never seen a bichon frise attack someone doesn't mean it never happened. ANY DOG CA NITE, its not a trait reserved only for pitbull. What about teh pomeranian that mauled and infant to death? Have you ever see a pomeranian attack someone? Doesn't matter if you did or not because it happened.

  • According to the American TempermantTest Society 84.3% of pitbulls passed the tempermant test, that is better than the 79.3% of bichon frise that passed. That means as a group pitbulls have a better tempermant than bichon friseses. So maybe people should be fearful of bringing their pitbulls around your bichon frise. Just a thought.

  • Oh, yes it is!!!!!!!!!!

  • My older sis works at cbw.

    Nelly was awesome!:)

  • Haha, this is great. I work at CBW, not that one though. This is so what the dogs think when they come to camp. And the Dane, and Nelly are perfect voices.

  • George from dfw camp bow wow this video was neat!

  • ahwooooooooo! (wag,wag,wag)

    wish I was a dog :)

  • woof woof!

  • Woof Woof! Arf!

  • That dog is both Stewie and Brian.

  • That dog is both Stewie and Brian.

  • Great video! My dog is SO Nelly when he is at camp.

  • I love Camp Bow Wow!!
