I've flown real gliders. The glider must always be at the same level as the tug. As a glider pilot You must keep the tugs wings at the horizon line. Otherwise the glider pulls the tugs tail up or down. It must be the same for model aircraft, but I understand it can be a bit hard to see.
@YDDES Not always, in Australia the standard tow is a low tow where the glider is always below the slip stream. Some people say it's safer which is why it's mandatory, but I think both are acceptable
everyone who is arguing about the toys thing. I fly model aircraft and yes they are toys (things that you play with) but at the same time they are not stupid, or infantile, they are extremely complex miniature aircraft, this one though is a fairly simple foam toy (i have one)
look like what happened to you is exactly what happens in real life after the glider climbs behind the tug. Neither can release and the tug crashes. Do you have a release on the tug?
@Sprunga69 we used a small piece of velco (about the size of the nail on your pinkie) to tow the glider. The plan was.....after reaching altitude, I would dive the T28 while the glider pilot climbed, thus getting a clean release. It did work, a few times, just not this time.
@EvilPlasticPlate there ot friggen toys for the last godam time how many times do i have to say this they are high tech aircraft why dont you try to go fly a model aircraft and come back to me and tell you flew without crashing and if you want a toy plane go to walmart thats where you will get your toy.
The glider pilot is all over the place.. tug should of ditched the glider

@foamerville That makes sense now! I wouldn't have ever imagined that the velcro would have not let go!

Anybody who said that this vid is crap obviously knows nothing about aircraft and doesn't know that t-28s don't tow gliders.

Experimenting can be a lot of fun. Try mounting the tow line just behind the canopy on the T28. On top of the fuselage.
