  • jake had a great record ..benny lynch was a great fightet in scotland to

  • Lamotta's left hand looks dangerous

  • that was nothing like the movie

  • You can see flashes on Jakes ability, but he just couldnt keep it up at this point

  • These guys seem to be moving pretty slow.

  • old men?? nah trained pro boxer who were champs not just any old men dont make it sound asif marciano got knocked down by some old man!! archie moore is one of the greats and walcott was great too!although not 1 of the greatest dont get me wrong! so marciano was knocked down just twice but by two champions so it comes as no suprise!he wasnt hurt as u can see he got up strait away.they are in different weight divisions so cannot compare who was tougher as its harder to take a punch of a 200+ man

  • I thought la motta was never knocked down in his career!? :-/ always thought he had the hardest chin myself he is 1 tough man jus like marciano.id say marciano was tougher because he took punches from big heavyweights

  • @sardomanful marciano was knocked down twice and by old men, jake fought better competition and only went down once at the end of his career, marciano was still tough as nails though

  • it looked like a slip with a punch

  • 177 was way to heavy for LaMotta.

  • thanks for posting this. LaMotta should not have been fighing at this point in his career.

  • Nardico was a nice little fighter but he probably doesn't last 7 rounds with Jake in Jake's prime. Jake was about 3 years past his prime at this point in his career & would only fight three more times after this.

  • Those were the days when the fights meant something. No dressing up and posing . I followed boxing here in England and in the U.S. through the Ring magazine from my teen years in the middle forties up until the eighties. Great memories Danny. R.I.P.

  • @gogo31038 so you just hit the best years in boxing i would say;) nowadays its just crap

  • Danny Nardico was a fierce competitor and a War Hero. I am the son of former fighter and Nardico opponent Charley Norkus.

The Norkus Family sends its Sincerest Sympathies to The Family of Danny Nardico.

    May he Rest in Peace.

  • Your grandfather was a hell of a man.

  • I just looked this up after reading the article about Danny Nardico's passing, what a stud....two time Silver Star WWII vet, and a complete as whipping on the "Raging Bull." Any other boxer alive would have been unconcious though, I don't know how Jake made it through that?

  • R.I.P. Danny 11/22/10 keep swing'in in the afterlife .

  • That knock down was like 75 percent push 25 percent hit. What a legend jake is, they just dont make em like that anymore

  • @BlinkBoyBrad naw u see that right cross that was deadly plus he didnt come out the next round

  • Check out up coming K.O Boxer Anthony Abbruzzese and his other K.O video Celebrity Boxing Anthony

  • you can see Lamotta is past his peak in this fight. Nardico telegraphs his right when he throws it. LaMotta would have taken him in his prime.

  • He did beat LaMotta, but Lamotta came into this fight still sick with the Flu.....and it shows. Compare Lamotta's sharpness in this fight compared to others in 1949-51'. LaMotta looks sluggish from the opening bell. The Flu will weaken your legs....especially in Boxing. But after all is said and done, that maybe doesn't add up to much. LaMotta lost and Nardico was a tough fighter and tough old Marine who served in combat.

  • nardicos 15 minutes of fame.

  • spose it is classed as a knockdown didnt look like he went down because of the hit though looks like a slip. and ive seen videos were he can take robinsons powerfull hooks and he looks fine after that

  • I am the granddaughter of Danny Nardico. I will be posting the footage we have of this video. It ends after the 7th round because Jake is not able to get up. He's TKOed in this last round.

  • @Aplumkin Did you post it yet? If it's true what you say, you should post as much as you can. It would be a tribute to your grandfather and fans of boxing history will appreciate it.

  • @Aplumkin

Jake Lamotta was clearly past his time when he fought your grandfather Danny Nardico. At that point of his career, Jake had over 100 fights, fought the likes of Sugar Ray Robinson, Tony Janiro, Bob Satterfield, who could campaign as a Heavyweight and should've beaten Billy BlackJack Fox

  • @2READYCRETE I agree. I had never seen this fight but was shocked to see Lamotta quickly running out of gas at the end of round 2. Lamotta took too much punishment in previous fights and it looked like it caught up with him here.

  • @Aplumkin One year has gone by and all you have are 3 uploaded videos of some ugly, old women? Yeah, you MUST be his granddaughter.

  • @Aplumkin He got up you stupid lying bitch

  • stayed down to catch a breather, he was obviously shagged.

  • shame Lamotta got knocked down at the end of his career, great fighter, great respect for Nordico being able to defeat him.

  • Lamotta loose. It is true. Look at the moment when he fall. Then he stand up, but he catch the rings rope. Nardico punch him all over the time, so... He definitely beat Lamotta.

  • i love lamotta but did he really slip? i hope so coz he looked pretty shook up!

  • he was off balance and then nardico hit him and he fell back. doesnt matter if he would have went down anyway had he not been off balance. its a knockdown. nardico punched him while he was pushing lamotta, lamotta fell down. its lamottas fault for being in an offbalanced position.

  • it wont count as a slip because it was after a punch. he clearly lost his balance but it was after a punch, and hence a down.

  • i felt sick 4 a moment , i watched it and watched it , THATS A SLIP who won ?

  • yee Jake slipped at the end of the other guy's gloves... :P

cant believe the ref let him grab on to the rope while he was getting belted, wouldve been knocked out

  • LaMotta was a beast...he had one hell of a chin

  • @utvolfan2012 Lamottta had everything but speed, agility, and cuts

  • ref shouldn't stop fight

  • yes he was off balance but a push dident knock him down a punch did.. and he was off balance because he was stunned may i add..

  • la motta best chin ever

  • Danny Nardico goes to the adult daycare center i work at. Great guy

  • wow out of all the gr8 boxers jake fought tht bum got him dwn haha harsh like ur hammered if u think tht wasa proper kd!

  • Jesus Christ, wat a KD - only 1 of his career

  • What a beating. LaMotta on queer street, holding the top rope for support. I couldn't help yelling, "Get your hands up, Jake!"

  • nardico dragged lamotta down when he clinched then he hooked him down lamotta was off balance cause the clinch not a clean knockdown

  • yeah, he was off balance before he got hit and a push would have knocked him down there..

  • Why did he move to light heavyweight?

  • Weight problems. He liked to binge between the fights.

  • u must hav sumink rong wiv ur eyes if u think it is

  • nah m8 u cant say it wos a knockout ther wos no whiplash of the head or anythink

  • you can see him try to hold on to something wen he falls if it wos ko he wood be oute for a bit

  • nah he got pushed off ballance wen he got hit u can see it wernt a clean hit n he didnt get knocked down wen he wos takin punches off the ropes

  • looks like lamotta just gave in i dont think he wos knocked out

  • Greatest chin ever? How's about George Chuvalo? Here's his resume.....Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Muhammad Ali x 2, Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Floyd Patterson, Jimmy Ellis, Ernie Terrell, Cleveland Williams, Bob Baker, Buster Mathis, Bob Cleroux x 2, Doug Jones, and NEVER KNOCKED DOWN.

  • lamotta deinetly 1 of the greatest chins ever

sugar ray 6 times and never knocked down or out

any1 whos any1 in boxing knows ray robinson was the greatest p4p ever

  • la motta was a middleweight, the most KO's happen in heavyweight fights, and that george chuvalo didn't go down even from FOREMAN and FRAZIER, the only 2 who could surpassed them in punches archie moore and tyson, get ya facts right

  • my facts are right

lamotta had 1 of the best chins ever. meaning in boxing history not just weight divisions....

yeh chuvalo had a hell of a chin too, i never said he didnt, its jus u sed foreman and frazier didnt knock chuvalo down i did the same in sayin sugar ray robinson out of 6 times didnt and couldnt knock lamotta down

just comparisons....not competition kid chill the fuck out

  • now you say 1 of the best haha

chuvalo had THE BEST chin, his no-kd says it all, robinson had a 61% win by ko, foreman had 90% and frazier had 85% win by ko, that just says howmuch he suffered and without mentioning ALI

if la motta would get a punch of foreman or shit, he would go DOWN inmediatly, you can't train your chin,

i also agree la motta had 1 of the best chins, BUT NOT the best

  • exactly, so youve just supported my point in that lamotta has 1 of the best chins ever, as does chuvalo

its not all about percentage dude, ali's ko rate was wack, and yet hes still 1 of the greatest ever

infact look at frank bruno, no1 remembers him to be 1 of the greats but hes got a higher ko rate than all those guys, its 98%, one of the highest in history

stats dont mean shit bro, dnt watch them too much

  • lol Chuvalo would have fell eventually...That's why I hate TKO's... then someone one can say they never been knocked down...but you still got knocked out...that guy was known for being tough though...but Forman or Frazier would have dropped him if the ref didn't stop it...a good chin is best complimented with a strong offense...Lomotta and Chuvalo could beat the best with their chins unfortunately...so who give a shit....

  • Nah it was a push on an exhausted LaMotta.

When you're exhausted your legs give out easier and that was the case here

  • ahahahhahaa

    no man, defenitly a KD

  • it was a knock down but you have to admit he shoved him aswell

  • damn right

  • hit i mean*

  • it wos a hot sort ov push n he went off ballance u can see then he wos tired so he must of fort fuk it n gave up

  • it was a clean punch, don't hate on nardico

  • In fact LaMotta didnt answer the bell at the 8th round.. I'm sad to learn that he was Knock down once in his life... (He was at the end of his career without money huh?..)

  • lamotta win??

    quien gano??

  • looked like a push imo but he was tired you can tell

    Greatest chin ever

  • nope, he got kd

  • lamotta was right near the end even from the start he seems like his not in it..and he moved up weight so it wasnt really going his way even before the fight started

  • Its noticeable that La Motta does what he did in the St Valetines Massacre v Robinson which is hold on to the top rope to keep upright which is illegal and the ref should have prevented that.

Nardico looked the much bigger man. He went on to lose to Maxim. Nardico's KO ratio was twice that of La Mottas. Nardico was an ex-Marine who won the Silver Star in WW2 the 2nd highest medal.

Nardico was involved in a classic with another ex-marine Charlie Norkus in Jan 1954 with 8 knockdowns.

  • This was really the end of LaMotta's boxing career. The first and only time he was ever knocked down, it looked like a bit of a push but LaMotta was visibly hurt and tired.

I'm amazed that he is still alive after all of the punishment he took in his career.

  • I thought Robbinson floored him also.

    But I'm wrong?

  • Robinson didn't knock Jake down but he did TKO LaMotta.

Their last fight is on youtube, watch it, LaMotta takes amazing punishment and never goes down.

  • Okay,

    thanks

  • Didn't Billy Fox knock him down in the fight that LaMotta threw?

  • The fight was stopped with LaMotta still on his feet. No knockdowns.

  • According to Lamotta his career really ended when the night of beating Cerdan for the title. A man whom he thought he killed as a youngster turned out not to be dead. And he said he lost his edge in the ring too after learning that. It shows too. He lost his next fight after Cerdan luckily was non title and he only won one fight by KO in the rest of his career after learning he didnt kill that man.

  • the GreatA u know your history, fair play. thanks 4 uploading this video! iv always thought jake never got knocked down, but there it is! and deathmetal that is an amazing piece of information, if its true????

  • Yep thats how he wrote it in his autobiography called "Raging Bull" my story. When he was 13 or so he robbed a bookie and hit him over the head with a lead pipe and he always thought he killed him because of a misprint in the newspaper. I recently talked Lamotta on the phone. He's sending me an autographed picture.

  • How? He's dead.

  • Lamotta is still alive.

  • No he isn't, my bad.

  • Lamotta's not dead.
