  • I use aluminum cookware because how light it is and they curve down at the bottom so this would not work for me but great idea!.

  • How do you keep it from getting tore up while in your pack. I figure you put your pot in it but what are some ways you've found to keep you cozy in tack?

  • This is a great video. I made one for my pot/pan combo and it fits and looks great. Great job with the instructions and I agree with you 100% about the need for a good cozy to save fuel.

  • 2 words man, hot hands

  • I've really enjoyed your videos. Great ideas and well explained. thanks!

  • Russel, your videos are well-produced, articulate, and informative. I'm going to make one of those insulators today as I have scraps of the tinfoil insulation from a home project. Just Awesome. Keep making great videos.

  • This is such a great idea and design. I'm going to make one and I'll tell friends. Thanks so much.

  • @dufus934 shut the fuck up

  • $30 my butt, you can find those cozys for less than $15 with very little searching.

  • Hey Russel, you ever try and use that bubble insulation as a ground cloth? It looks hella light.

  • No, I have a bunch of it, I will try.

  • Russell, I went camping a week ago with the scouts. I took a leaf out of your weekendadventurer website and threw a hot water bottle in my bag before going to bed. My feet love you, and I slept like a baby! Thanks!

  • That is great! Thanks for the encouragement.

  • This was a good video. I saw things on water botles here I haven't seen elsewhere. I especially like the upside down bottle trick. Make sense, but never thought of it.

  • myself being a 11B Infantry man Im not a light weight hiker or a gram weenie but the littelest of things like this really is great what you are doing this could save someone life like a boy scout if you now what i mean with out water there is no life remeber this even in the winter time dehydration will kill just as easy in winter as in summer.great work Russle

  • wow, great tips, I love the hand warmer idea. The best part about doing these vids is learning new stuff myself. Very cool.

  • I used this method in korea bosnia and germany and all over the US on hikes in the coldest of winters and at night when you bed down add the warmers to your socks and wrap something soft around the bottle to keep it warm and use it as a pillow kinda hard at times but does work depending what you pack

  • When you make the pot cozy an inch taller it allows you to go to walmart and but the small hand warmers and you can add one to the bottom of the cozy and it works great I have used this method many times and work great for me

  • A rule we use in the military for long cold hikes or treks in the field make you nalgene bottle cozy a inch taller then what you have already.

  • ok, I will. Why does it work?
