The Super slo-mo (220-240fps)is a nice feature,you also have a lot more manual control if you into that or easy mode for point and shooters. Another factor I took in account was that I've choosen Memory stick as my prefered storage a lot of my devices use memory stick. Plan on using the HC7 to take stills? you'll be hard pressed to find another HD camcorder shooting 6.1 stills with this feature set and price point.

The 24p footage on the HV20 looks good very close to 35mm film, I'm using this camera primarliy to capture my Son growing up and my Kiteboarding which Sony have a waterproof housing for SPK-HCC.

I must admit I also thought it might be very grainy on on 50" HD Pany but to be honest it's more than acceptable, I think the HD helps in this department because essentially all that happening is a crop of whatever is been viewed, and 20x just happens to be the sweet spot after that everything goes downhill but nevertheless impressive enough to allow it onto some of my upcoming clips not going to buy telephotos just yet.
