The English Patient was a tremendous movie. Movies such as The English Patient, West Side Story and Once Upon a Time in America are twenty year movies. These knock-your- socks-off movies only appear in a cycle of about twenty years.

The English Patient knocked Hollywood's socks off. Hollywood was sleeping for twenty years in the love story department. Hollywood had to go into damage control and produced Titanic the following year. No comparison to The English Patient. All categories - tops!
