@homerunhita12 i know that but in a jeep u want to gain low end torque. if i was racing that jeep i would go turbo but i am not. but like i wrote it still sick.
@iceefreet Definitely sick. I feel like if you geared everything low enough a turbo would be a great alternative when crawling tho, as long as you're making boost
@homerunhita12 well u see thats the thing even if you gear it right the SCing it will still be better. i for one am a turbo guy, i would turbo a bicycle if i could but on a jeep i have to go SC unless is a diesel turbo like the ones in Europe. damn Americans an their stupid regulations. lol
@homerunhita12 Most people who say what he said say it because when they think "turbo" they think "turbo-lag" which is "not good for low end torque." These people also, usually, fail to understand that not all turbos are the larger variety found in "tuner cars" to make high rpm HP, and that a smaller turbo will spool up much faster and can produce very good low end torque.
your three wheeler dont cost as much as the jeep either im sure he is being carefull and trail riding is most definatly not about speed why do people always fucking say oh i can do that faster and shit its supposed to be fun out in the woods and what not.
Sounds an awful lot like a turbo diesel. The blow off valve gave a continuous whistle and not the kind you hear from a gas powered engine when the throttle plate is closed.
jvs8864 lol classic response, someone who knows all about everything. its called a wastegate which is set at 7 psi. yes the turbo probubly can put out 15psi but i want my rig to last. as of now its running stock leaves up front, 2.5" bds rear. stretched 5", 1" body, 37 mtrs, 4.88 airlockers and teralow 4:1
the turbo is off a 4 cyl turbo coupe actually a thunderbird, t3 .60compressor .48 exhaust. and running 7psi. almost a year ago and i never knew anyone even shot this video lol. those who think turbos don't help low end go back to college! it helps her breath better at any rpm!
Maybe it does but anyone who says it doesn't help low rpm isn't exactly at fault. A turbo is most helpful when the most exhaust is going out of the engine, and that usually happens when you "give it stick" and rev the engine into the higher rpm's. So I don't disagree that a turbo does help at low rpm, but a superchargers going to help more, especially in a vehicle like this, and the rpm range it usually sticks around in. At the expense of fuel economy of course. ;)
yes you are exactly right! it just realy grinds my gears when someone sees something you built and has nothing nice to say, and probubly can't change his own oil. thanks. i would super charge it but i can;t build one, maybe but not cheap. junk yard parts!
That would be really cool if you built a supercharger. Like you said, it probably wouldn't be cheap, but depending on how many parts you could scrap up, it would probably be cheaper than an aftermarket, and it would be really cool. Imagine recreating your own Mad Max Ford Falcon "V8 Interceptor," but with a working blower (not a fake one)!

i rather have a SC than a turbo on a jeep but regardless i give props for your ride.

@iceefreet superchargers take power to make power. turbos run off the exhaust, which otherwise would be a huge loss of potential energy

@iceefreet Yeah I agree. I'd get a diesel if they released them here haha.

no the old fox body mustangs had a 4cyl turbo model that used a t3 turbo so yes it would make sense for it to come from a mustang
