Changed both the Dipped Lamps (the hardest to reach) using the "Hand (more like ARM) in the Vents" technique this afternoon... yes its fiddly, took about 10mins per side once I knew what I was feeling about for. 2005 Smart Passion for2 ... THERE IS NO NEED TO REMOVE THE WHOLE FRONT
I think you are not being smart at all... that is simply NOT the right way!
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL of that version, you have to remove the front panel on the newer versions, and its even simpler than in this version of a smart car.
My brother has two, and I changed bulbs 2 or 3 times... only had to use the tip of the keys to remove those tiny vents beneath the windshield and stick a hand in.
I had to work this out in the cold one time, I managed to get the old bulb out then could fasten the new one in so had to take the panels off. pain but actually quite easy to take apart
You can go through the service vents but and a big but if one of the light clips comes loose your left with no choice but to take her apart. Last night one of the clips came off trying to go through the vents lol. Tomorrow I will be following this video step by step. Let you know how I go:)
Terrible video. All that work and you don't even show how to actually change the bulb. You can do all this buy going through the service vent, but would have been nice to actually see the bulb unscrewing, going back in, clipping the wire in etc.

If your careful and lucky you'll get it in but like you taking the panels off in not so hard.
