Whether her interpretation was based on a prejudice on her own part, she flatly said she "didn't give him the full force" of her ability to help, It certainly appears that consideration of his race was a factor in her interpretation, her subsequent actions, and the response from the audience.
Somebody should tell them that is no such thing as a "black race" or "black culture" that they are just social constructs, Blackness as a culture and identity is a myth. Be proud of your individual African tribe, but this idea of "blackness" or "African" is myth. Understand that there is no pride in simply being "black". All the actions she described appear to have happened -- she obtained aid for him early in the process, and more aid later in the process, and the farmer credits her for saving his farm. All the actions she described appear to have happened -- she obtained aid for him early in the process, and more aid later in the process, and the farmer credits her for saving his farm. I can forgive her her initial position, given what happened to her family, but I can't forgive her NAACP audience for their reaction prior to her statement of epiphany.

@unclesmrgol I didn't say she telegraphed the ending. However, by the way she very slowly said (with sarcasm) that she did the least she possibly could for the white farmer, she was intentionally leading them to believe that she still thought that was right and funny. In other words, her delivery led them to fall into that trap, which made her actual message that much stronger. It was because she was ACTING like she was trying to be funny that the audience responded with laughter.

Somebody needs to give her a history lesson or two. Georgia was founded as a colony for poor white farmers who would receive enough land to make a better life for themselves and their families. It was a handful of slave owners from SC who started setting up plantations and illegally bringing in slaves; they eventually got the laws changed. The net result was that many white farmers and farm laborers were denied the opportunity to better themselves. Where is their compensation?

Fox News is pumping millions into Republican races and make no bones about who they support. I don't watch them and don't allow anyone around me to watch. I took my car to the dealership last Monday. I walked in and turned the TV while everyone was watching Fox to another channel and dared anyone to change it back. I got no takers. No one watches Fox News around me. Nobody!

America would retain it's economic advantage for the next century if we would start using common sense in regulations that considers ecology without needlessly handcuffing growth, especially water, energy, and material production rather than trying to shut down those basic requirements for a growing economy. start requiring people to work and train in order to receive benefits so that low skilled assembly jobs are replaced with better skilled and more productive work. raise our vision.

Also, CapitalsToughGuy, the point shouldn't be to make things here. It should be to have full employment. If we can purchase products for far less than it costs us to make them, we grow richer as a nation no different than if as individuals we buy soap for a dime a bar at the store rather than having to use half a day on saturday to make our own. If we use saturday for more productive use we grow richer. Cheap products free us to create better neighborhoods and quality of life jobs if we choose.
