oh my. 3 years ago i stumbled on hawaiian music on my t.v. i was hooked right then.
but this music from dennis is beyond description in its beauty and rhythms. all my life ive played guitar and piano but these harmonies and expressions of emotions
are intoxicating.i have no knowledge of the words but i know the feelings so deep.
God bless this gifted man -Dennis Pavao. You bring sweet memories when listening to your albums. You bring tears to my eyes thinking back of cherished memories of my family whom passed and are all in heaven! Thank you for sharing your album on UTube! From: Saipan Northern Marianas!
maikai no mahalo nui one of the baddest hawaiian singers sadly he has gone to heven to sing for the lord thank you soooooooo much for uploading this song
I'm Keaweikekahialiiokamoku and this song brings back warm memories o Kalapana when Queen's Bath was still in Kalapana! No ka Oi ka leo o Dennis Pavao......Pa'ani Mau....So Majestically.......Tranquilly Played......He anelas Paridiso......Aloha..........
I grew up listening to this gifted man of splendid origin that could be sent by the gods themselves. He was a man destined to be reknowned by the aliis of his day and think he should be noted by all as a gift of love to those he spoke by his music and they only come by supernatural occurrances. God Bless Dennis Pavao immensely for his gift for all. I Miss You eternally Uncle
Although I dont understand the language, the music is quite familiar to me and gives me a lot of memories and emotions. A great song and a great singer!
`O Kalapana, kai leo nui, Ua lono ka uka o Hölei, He uwä lä Kalapana, ë, Kuli wale, kuli wale i ka leo, He leo no ke kai, ë. It's Kalapana, the great voice of the sea. The Uplands of Holei listen, Roaring is Kalapana, Deafened, deafened by a voice, A voice that is the sea. This song/poem refers to a place on the Big Island, Kalapana where the waives from the ocean were quite beautiful and loud. Kalapana was destroyed around 1990 by Pele, the goddess of the Volcano.
Mahalo! My grandmother was one of the last full blooded Hawaiians. She spoke Hawaiian and told my mother a story of Kalapana. Kalapana was a man who traveled alone from Kauai to see the great goddess Pele. He tried daily to find her; he vowed not to cut his hair until he had seen her. One night, local kids snuck in and cut his hair. (burning the tips off) Pele then visited him and told him to remain in the region, teach the kids and the region would be named after him.
one of da sweetest falseto's around.second to none. a true Hawai'ian voice.mahalo for posting....put tears in my eyes... mahalo nui.a hui hou unko Dennis.
Dennis,Ledward,Nedward brought us such Beautiful Music for so many decades,it's so hard to accept the fact that Dennis has left us so soon.but, Thank GOD That we can still listen to Dennis's powerful Voice and the wonderful Music and sounds of Hui Ohana...RIP Dennis.

What a voice!!!! Dennis RiP, this song will always be my emotional rescue.
Back in the 70's my brother turned me on to Hui O Hana. Remembered 'the
falsetto' voice did not put the 2 together. Now it rings a bell. :-}} THANX!!!!!

Every time I hear Uncle Dennis I remember countless nights in Kailua Kona listening to Island Sunsets and watching the sun go down from Lava Java.
Some one recalled Dennis started his career with Hui Ohana, now the whole world is his Ohana. E ho'omaika'i Akua for this wonderful Hawaiian.
