  • Paintage....excellent..! i find that maskingf tape has about two weeks before it starts to delaminate and leave glue behind...of course that depends on temperature and humidity..here in foggy cold Blighty it the usual drill... if you heat the item up to "summers day warm" first it usually comes off ok.... P.S. 2.33 is that your Sister?...can you introduce me.?...lol.

  • @Moonfleet41 Thanks buddy, I think I'm pushing a week with the tape on the car, so maybe I'll still pull it off in a day or so! Sister? Now now Del, what would Mrs Pitstop say? lol And no it's not my sister ;) lol

  • @ziggassedup Ya I pretty excited to hit this stage of the game and I'm a little bit nervous cause this is all new to me, so I'm trying to take everything I've learned from watching all the youtube guys and apply it to my project, so will see how it goes! Thanks for watching Ziggy!

  • Prime time baby!!! Nice work. Gotta feel good that it's all becoming one color.

  • @gregmporter Thanks Greg! I'm actually looking forward to paint something now lol Not quit looking forward to all the sanding I have to do, but I guess it has to be done! It is kinda nice having all the parts look clean and new, gives me a sence of accomplishment :)

  • Moving right along my friend.

Now the fun of blocking the primer. :-P

    Looks great.

  • @cecil6711 Ya I have a couple more parts to prime and then the fun part begins lol

    milo

  • @Milogarage Thanks for watching Milo!

  • Nice Masking job on that fender! Good to see the progress. Are you going to dry block fenders, decklid, or are they aredy for wet sand?

  • @turbocobra Thanks Gary! Ya I leanred how to mask from watching youtube :) No I still have to block everything with 320 and if everything looks good after that then I'll hit it with 400 and/or 600 dry! Thanks for watching

  • @Rasd4Metta Gotcha, so your not planning on wet sanding the primer before paint? I know it can be done either way, was never sure why some people wet sand vs. others dry sanding.

  • @turbocobra No I'm just going to dry sand. Ya I guess it's just preference, I would rather have the dust then the water all over the place lol

  • Home depot has masking plastic thats great for covering the walls. 2 small rolls would cover that entire room. Looking good.

  • @jasonmushersee Cool thanks! Ya I was planing on wraping the walls and laying paper on the floor before I start painting, I do still have lots on the roll of plastic I have now, but if I run out then I'll go see what they got for sure. Thanks for watching!

  • looks realy good rob, nice to be at this stage ,before u know it u will be ready for some paint, nice job, have a good one

  • @TheRickfix Thanks Rick! Just got a few more parts to prime then it's off to blocking, and thats the fun part lol

  • Oh nice! look at all those bits ready for it, what colour is the car going to be Rob?, you might of said before but i don't know.

  • @peteq1972 Thanks Pete! The car is going to go a matte black with gloss black highlights, the bumpers, handles, and mirrors will be all blacked out aswell, I think it will look pretty mean!

  • @Rasd4Metta Wow yeah!, it'll look quite menacing.

  • @peteq1972 Thanks buddy!

  • man you'll be sprayin paint in no time

  • @slowsrt Thanks Matt! I do know spraying primer is more forgiving then spraying paint and clear, but the gun is really starting to feel comfortable in my hands, so hopefully I will have enough gun time in before I get to the painting stage :) Thanks for watching bud!
