Dude great stuff, yeah we all hate it and it's only gonna get worst, everyone goes to VFX school. I started 6-7 years ago (no school, just a hobby, FCP 1.0, AE 4) when rappers would look at my chromaKey living room wall and be clueless. Now clients ask me if I know greenscreening. If I see another flourish I'm gonna scream...but everyone (clients) copies, listen to the radio...stay up

yeah, that just about sums it up. there's so many different ways to make something visually interesting, but everyone wants to follow this faux-graffiti street art trash like it's the bleeding edge. my eyes are rolled back just about as far into my skull as they can go.
