Joy Epstein is an amazing educator who has nothing to do with this whole situatuon. She had no way of knowing this was going to happen. And as for your comments on gays, all people are equal. I dont think you would like it if people would judge you. So keep your racist comments to yourself.
you're MORON AngryGoyim! How can you say something like that?! A boy was killed and all u can say as that gay people belong in the bedroom?! YOU'RE A BITCH! You call yourself a mother?! What if your son/daughter was gay?!
Save the flashy dress codes for outside of school, I mean a "casual friday" should be in accordance at least every month, but really, you have to start to learn how to be professional at a very young age now a days.
I somewhat agree with Dorkwad, I don't think that clothing should become a distraction in a classroom setting. But as far as Larry as a person is concerned, that's a subject I dare not to tread on.
He didn't deserve to die because of the way he dressed, or because of his sexual orientation, but that's not the subject at hand. SCHOOL is a place of EDUCATION, not a fashion show or "kiss concert" as Dorkwad put it.
Im gay myself, and I cringed when I heard this news about Lawrence, BUT, he wasnt shot ONLY because he was gay. I read all the articles online. Lawrence sexualy harrased and threw his gayness on guys who clearly told him they didnt like it and wanted him to stop and one boy took the wrong path and shot him. I hold the shooter completely accountable but Lawrence wasnt as innocent as we might think.
His mother tried to make a lawsuit when the school wouldnt let him wear what he wanted. Now that she has threated the school, they complied with the demands. What happens? He gets SHOT. Now the mother is most likely going to sew the school. It was her fault in the first place. In that kind of environment, kids shouldn't be distracted by the clothing of other students. Sure, it's okay to be gay, of course, i have nothing against it, but in a SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT you should dress appropriately.

Maybe if the school had enforced the district mandated dress code requirement, this little boy might still be alive. My son goes to Sunkist Elementary, right down the street. I would never allow him to go to school with heeled shoes and makeup. That's just stupid. A fifteen year old is a legal minor. He has no right to sexual self expression at school. I don't care how many queer organizations come out of the woodwork in support of him.
fauximagination: That's the real problem with western culture nowadays. We have become waaaayyy too tolerant of behavior that was taboo in the past. Of course, I don't believe this poor child deserved to die. I'm not inhuman. However, Larry was supposed to be in class learning the three R's. He was not supposed to be dressed up for a KISS concert. A minor's constitutional rights are temporarily suspended under the law. Children are required to dress and behave as they are told. Period.
Wow. That is really low, sorry. It's not stupid, you're just tight and strict. Larry was a great person and we're not letting your opinions make us think otherwise. Larry was an individual, he wasn't afraid to express himself and he wasn't about to let crazy parents and council like you tell him otherwise. You need to stop telling people who they ought to be. Larry was bolder and more open minded than you will ever dream to be.
Dorkwad06, you deserve to be shot the same way Lawrence Robes King was, for being an ignorant, biased, in-the-closet bastard, yes I went there. Go after me if you want I don't care you deserve to die!!!

Um, no. It's not stupid. It's being an individual, is that so horrible that we can't be different without being killed?
do you support the idea behind this then? Calling someone stupid for being themselves?

Rot in hell dorkwad. You sound like your the type of parent who teaches his son that homosexuality is wrong. He has every right to be himself.
