@ericzak2011 you are wrong lol. Fiddler crabs are scavengers. They will eat anything. Rotting fish, algea, other crabs you name it they will eat it. Maybe you are thinking about a whale?

I started out putting a dish of water in my fiddler tank, but they always ignored it, and eventually I just stopped putting it in. They were fine.

how long do fiddler crabs live? i heard that people have a hard time keeping them alive for no longer than a couple months, sometimes just a few weeks.

If they don't have salt in there water then they can't molt. Which in the end will cause stunted growth and they will die.
