I've just tried Brewdogs Punk IPA, Hardcore IPA,and 5AM Saints and have to say before viewing your entertaining beer reviews i wouldn't have given them a second look, mainly due to the ultra modern label and the small bottle which is priced roughly the same price as the 500ml bottled beer. But i have to say i am massively impressed by the quality of these beers, all very complex in flavour and lip smackingly tasty. I have also given the Rum Cask Innis and Gunn a try, wow,i'm in beer heaven ,cheers
@InTimeAllMustChange I like to call that beer heaven 'brewtopia' now you're hooked on that brewtopia feeling it'll be difficult swallowing the old faithfuls. You have though, joined the best online worldwide social club. All the reviewers, brewers and glass raisers on these social networks are really nice mate. OK there is the occasional troll or prima donna but 99.9% are really great folks. If I'm drinking a beer off cam, I love drinking it with another reviewer and leaving comments.
@BeerGogglesReviews Brewtopia! i like it. I think you're right, the beers i once thought were great almost seem a little average now. Thats not to say i'll cast them aside completely, but those beers were little gems! I don't think i will overlook the smaller bottles from now on that's for sure. I did also have an Old Peculiar which is another of my favourites and a good winter ale. I'm already pre planning my beer selection for next Sunday.
On viewing your most excellent and entertaining beer reviews i thought i would try a few beers i hadn't tried before. I always treat myself to a good few beers every Sunday but quite often get stuck on what to try and end up going for the ol' faithfuls, but today i have enjoyed some of the most complex yet tastiest beers i have ever tried!! I went for three Brewdog beers, Punk IPA, Hardcore IPA, and 5AM Saint which i have avoided in the past due mainly to the fact they are sold in smaller bottle
@InTimeAllMustChange Yeah I don't like the small bottle. In fact I am forever spouting on about UK bottles being of Imperial Pint size (568ml). But sometimes in the case of strong beers like Old Tom, or Hardcore IPA it's understandable. I have a playlist of beers in rating order. Needs updating and ratings are subjective but it may help with your next beer shopping spree.
@KieranD212 I didn't like the Punk but then again I had it way back when it first came out. It was nasty. This on the other hand is GLORIOUS. The flavours depend very much on the hops and malts combo. Quite a few hops have grapefruit, orange and other citrus tastes though.
@BeerGogglesReviews Well i didnt like the Punk either so my tip is don't try it again, it was like a forceful kick to the pallet and not in a good way either...
Hey mate. Just having a looksy through your videos as i have only just subscribed. Really enjoyed this review as i too enjoyed the 5am Saint. I have had it on tap as well which is even better. Top review! Cheers
I agree with you, kind of an unusual hop flavor, but delicious none-the-less. Kind of like a toned down Punk with more malts. I agree with the dates on the bottle too. Good review. Cheers!!
@patrickthebeerguy Thank you Patrick. Yeah you're right, it has similarities to the Punk IPA but I think it's nowhere near as harshly hopped. I love when beer knowledgable people enjoy my reviews. Thanks again mate.
@realaleguide It surprised me. I thought it was going to be gimmicky, but it was a beauty. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SIMON, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. MAY YOU LIVE A THOUSAND YEARS, MAY YOU DRINK A THOUSAND BEERS, GET PLASTERED, YOU BAR STEWARD HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. I'm raising a glass to you today mate. Happy Birthday.
@BeerExpedition Cheers mate. This beer was great. I think all that mad crazy gaga experimentation has paid off. And yeah I REALLY LOVED THAT LABEL. I'm passionate about clawing back our own choice, our own tastes, and our own individuality. Mass produced Popsi McLagers indoctrinate a brain dead consumption. Brewers like these guys, brew beer that appeal to a future generation of craft beer drinkers. The only reason to put this bottle down is to applaud them.
Cheers for the video response mr Kay :)
