I use the free firewall that comes with windows, the free spam control that comes with your email and forget all the rest McAfee and Norton both really slow down your computer and so themselves become the problem. Even spyware and malware doesn't slow down your computer as much as McAfee and Norton, in other words. You can always get a free download IF you develop a problem, but why screw up your computer to begin with and pay extra for it?

Both norton and AVG have poor detection rates and false positives. Plus, on some occasions symantec was charged with identity theft! Whilst AVG only protects you from basic forms of viruses. All in all, they both suck! Avast! Internet Security is a BEAST!

There are so many reason why the internet is slow on someone's PC. One, maybe they have a bad connection, Two, maybe they got a slower package from their ISP. Three, wireless, and far from the router or wireless period. Four, overload. Five, firewall. And so on

No Antivirus is perfect, so don't expect it to catch every single virus downloaded onto your computer. I am currently still using Nod32 and I am not going to change until I have to. AVG is average, but the main problem I have with it is the percent of false detections it picks up.

In my opinion they are both just as good as each other, so it all comes down to personal choice eg. Do you like an Antivirus that has lots of features and addons to it? Or would you prefer one that has only antivirus and spyware protection and no extra features?

Obviously the less features one has, it will not use up as much memory and resource during scans. So you also have to take that into consideration.

Well...Nod32 is very good because it doesnt take as much memory and they update very often, even on Christmas!

With EVERY anti-virus use a program called Malwarebytes, it's a seprate program just for malware and VERY lightweight, like 3 megabyte download... But NOD32 and Malwarebytes are a kick *** combination!

MUCH better protection, blocks 68% of unkown viruses. NEVER missed an in-the-wild virus UNLIKE EVERY other antivirus, EVER CREATED including avira and kaspersky

Not only that, but it takes MUCH less resources. Think CPU. Kaspersky takes about 20% of a dual-core processor @ 2.6ghz to scan youtube home page, NOD32 takes 4%.
