my daughter is 7yrs old and she has had spacers put in twice (the first time she had two, now she has four) and the most pain she said she was in was actually the ortho putting them in. It hurt for her to eat the first two days but other than that no problems. She's getting a palate expander in the top of her mouth.
I am getting my braces on march 8th and I just got my spacers yesterday. I have 7 of them and they do hurt but I have had them before so they aren't too bad, unless you eat hard shell tacos like I did... lol. I will get a palate expander as well but not till after I get my braces.

I jsut got mine yesterday on the bottom and im having my top and palatte expanders on tuesday.
