So yea.. I find it a lot easier to use either a steel or terracotta electric wood burner.. no need to heat up a rod in a torch and stays hot as long as it's plugged in. Nice though :)

no heating up the glass doesnt emit anything....i think thats the reason they use pyrex. the other thing is that the glass doesnt get hot enough to really do anything with just these hand torches so your all set...

I ask because if the glycerin mixture is suitable and the glass is real good the right silicone o-rings between pieces and insulation around coil with a proper chill no more than -54 should control any rapid expansion/breakage and could deliver a ultra cool and condensed hit.
