its just a gimmick older djs used because the likes of Grandmaster flash started with NO crossfader and only upfaders.. its just analogue to an upfader in the way ur hand is placed... they did that so they didnt have to relearn everything. both ways are comfortable but normal style seems more intuitive when it comes to closed position scratches (eg transform) while hmstr for open position
hmstr is bad for juggling + mixing with a nonhamster buddy :P
Wonder how many takes it took to get a perfect 2 minute scratch routine/partypiece? If only one then wow, even if that was the thousandth take you're still sick. That was fucking brilliant man.

@00woolley Yeah, all modern scratch mixers have a button for you to reverse the left/ right of the crossfade. No need to swap leads round etc.
