There is no such physical entity as 'corporation' or 'government', so in that way they are the same. All that exists is people.

Businesses run by government are so inefficient that they are a terrible source of tax money.

You see? the source of all these problems is the government itself. A monopoly on force, and the only thing which brings other monopolies into existence.

Also, Government-run business would never evade taxation. That is just silly, rather than passing legislation to evade it

No she is not a fascist and this has nothing to do with fascism at all. Corporate tax havens are one of the biggest current running scams. Is it right for a corporation to pay no taxes and make billions, while a person in America makes 100k and be required to pay taxes? If this person does not pay they get slammed by the IRS, but a corporation does the same thing and is rewarded by our government.

Tax all income types the same. Thats the answer. Tax income from laying bricks the same way you tax income from trading brick stocks. However you treat the self employed worker -- treat all income that way. IF you apply FICA to self employed, then hedge fund income should pay that too. Just tax all income types the same, and the madness stops.

Look at the waste of money in the gaming/lottery industry. Why can't American's have a gaming establishment to capture this money for Social Security and Health Care? You may never win the lottery or a slot machine jackpot, but if this money we use for recreation were being filtered back to the American People to subsidize our programs we would all be winners.

Liz -- run for office. If you win, you will see how everything is a clash of self interests -- one group is fighting for something, the other group is fighting against it. Everything is in tension -its not easy. For example, tension between property taxes and education cost. If you were in office, you would get blamed no matter what happens.
