am I the only one thinking that the drivers may have had a little race trying to see which one of their engines goes the fastest. As when I watched the other video when 70013 overtook 44932 44932 suddenly sped up.
Never in my life have I seen two of these glorious machines Drag Racing. And here in New Zealand, I never will :( Fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing
Superb! Such valuable footage, as it may not happen again for a long time, if ever.
I was sitting in Northallerton on a delayed 225 due to a broken rail at Northallerton and having missed the SSE at York as a result this video is great compensation for that.
Thanks for all the kind comments, It's very pleasing to know that so many of you are enjoying this short bit of footage! It really was an impressive sight to see, and capture for posterity!
I had been thinking about going on the 'Spa that morning, but am rather glad I went photting instead, fun as it would have been to be watching the 'Black 5' out of the window, seeing them both was just awesome!
Fantastic! Right time, right place. Who in August 1968 would have thought such a scene would be filmed and broadcast to the world in 2011. Well done and thanks.
So that is what it looked like from outside. I was on the SSE. Historic shot. First time for me leaving York behind steam, plus the side by side running of the two steam locomotives. 5* video.
wooow yes its like rolling clocks back 60 yrs or so ?

Brilliant video. You don't see that often. It would be good if the tour companies did more things like that.
