  • holy moly that was really close.

  • I hauled the same thing in Miami

  • I have hauled bigger stuff on my flat bed.

  • they get alot bigger

  • Dam that was scary enough just watching tons of whatever that was passing just inches away.. Thatvwoild have

  • that is a power station hut and are more bulky than heavy

  • Pinchy primo metiroso!!!!!!!!! It's not a big load but it makes me proud THANK U VailCoronaAZ for filming that

  • If you have ever been to norther alberta canada, your "big scary load" is very normal if not small.

  • @jme205 haha born and raised here in alberta aint that the truth!

  • I'm the driver of the truck. we took that to the bay area. pick it up from Houston and took us three week to get it there..

  • nice video

  • The Driver or the shipper pay the DPS or highway patrol significantly more than overtime pay, Most of us manage to not dammage the Guardrails, dispite the fact 50% of the 4-wheelers pull back onto the road before you pass if you don't have a police escort. I've been driving long wide and high loads for a year and a half now and have only hit one sign, I Called myself in, as do most oversize drivers who hit something. you loose your lisc. for hit and run. so most call themselves in.

  • Insane! you shoyld see this cluster #u@k from the hill! Who pays for DPS overtime?? 'good thing' on a windy road and a rainy night!

  • I think the oversize load pays for off duy DPS, but the question is, do they pay for the damage they cause the guard rails? And, I know they contribute to the depression in the centerline of the road which is why the road is so dangerous when it rains. (with the excessive pooling of water)

Then, the question is-what happens to the "wildcat" oversize loads-the people who drive the oversize loads down the highway without escorts and do damage?

  • Not all oversize require escort. It goes by size and how the state determins the risk. Sates like IL or IA allow loads up to 14'2" without escort. If you hit anything, your suppose to report it. If you don't, and get caught, you get fined. Police escort is set on the permit. On duty or off is the police's choice. Oversize isn't always overweight. Regular trucks loaded heavy can do more damage because fewer wheels are on the ground and not stretched out.

  • @VailCoronaAZ these trailers are designed so that they dont impact the road surface anymore than the road surface can handle.there are VERY strict guidelines when it comes to how much PSI,how wide the axle sets are, etc.that is the reason for all of the axles/tires.as for gaurdrails thats a different story.and yes we pay (A LOT) for police escorts.

  • @VailCoronaAZ My hat goes off to these drivers, You gotta give to them lol i doubt any normal drivers drive better than those guys.

  • it all depends on how the load is set up. I have pulled 2 loads that took DPS escorts. One of them the shipper payed for it . it was added in to the cost of the product. the other I payed for out of pocket but i was payed a premium to haul the load. All over size loads are routed by the state(s) it is going through as so to minimize the risk to the motoring public . The with length and height of the load dictates weather or not escort and DPS is needed to get a load through any given area?

  • Wow that was scary...Thank God the Highway Patrol was escorting it.

  • I've missed the really big oversize loads, thank goodness. That one was about midsize, I'd say.

Two other DPS vehicles passed us in cars with flashing lights quite a ways ahead of the that stopped and talked to me, which is why I asked if it was a big one.
