@aza9825 The 3M 60926 cartridge is applicable for some NBC items, and fits the 6000 series full face respirator. However, the bulk of the so-called NBC filters are only for use on masks with DIN connectors. We don't stock/sell those.
@jpap967 The 3M 6000 full face respirator will only accept the 3M 1/4 turn style cartridges. They do make a variety of cartridges and filters, with some of them having application in the WMD area. Check the 60926 cartridge. I would suggest looking on the 3M website to research the available products. Since the potential challenge is not predictable, you will need to see what trade-offs you want to accept, as there are no 'universal' cartridges. Even military filters have limits.
Would this be ideal for working in a lumber mill? I'm on clean-up and I have sawdust spraying me in the face constantly. The problem I have is that when I put the mouth respirator on my safety glasses fog up and the sawdust gets in my eyes. So I have to sacrifice breathing over sight or vise versa. Either way is extremely uncomfortable.
It would have to fit under a hard hat also. So I don't know how realistic this would be. If it did work that would be amazing. Would make my job 100x easier.
@CanJ0n For sawdust type application, I would use the 3M 2071 N95 filter. This would fit directly on either the half mask or full face respirators. The advantage of the full face respirator in your situation is that all the air is filtered, including around the eyes. The clear lens is impact resistant and qualifies to replace safety glasses. As far as a hard hat, you will be able to wear one. The hat may sit a bit differently, but will work. Do you wear prescription glasses?
@pksafetysupply Yes I do, actually. My safety glasses are prescription. Good to know this would work with a hard hat. I'll probably get this with the insert for the prescription glasses. Where can I take it to get the lenses put in?
@CanJ0n If you saw the prescription glasses insert on our site, then you may know that it fits/hangs inside the mask. The temples on your glasses would break the seal of the mask. As far as getting the prescription filled, any optometrist can do it with your prescription in hand. We have had many customers do so, though I have not done it personally.
@pksafetysupply Yes, I have seen the insert. One more question, though. Would it be a good idea to wear this thing for 10 hours plus? I would probably only wear it 3-4 hours straight. But I want to make sure I'll be safe. For instance, I don't want to suffocate myself or something or hurt myself by not getting enough oxygen. Thanks for all your help thus far. Great customer service.
@CanJ0n Wearing any sort of mask has plus and minus factors. The filters will work until they are filled up with dust, and then you change them. No problem there. I'll assume that you are going to wear a respirator in any event. The full face is (in my opinion) a bit more comfortable. Some folks may feel it is confining or impairs their peripheral vision. So do fogged up glasses. The weather is cool now, but in summer you may find the full mask can feel warmer.
@mattbih For respirators there is no metric or measurement. Same for all brands. Only way to know for sure is by fit testing. Also, one brand may fit you better than another. This makes the potential process daunting.
Medium is by far the most common size sold (75% +/-). Small if you are very petite. Large if you are a very large man, with a correspondingly large face. The fit of a full face respirator is forgiving vs. a half mask. Easier surfaces to seal against. If in doubt, medium.
P100 rated filters are more specifically rated for 'radionuclides'. This the term used when referring to radioactive 'dust'. Particles that have for one reason or another become radioactive. The P100 (HEPA) filter is rated to filter these out. And keeping this sort of dust out of your lungs is a good thing! Of course there may be other health hazards associated with spending time around radioactive dust, but that is another story...
For protection against nuclear radioactive dust we recommend a P100 (HEPA) rated filter. The 3M 7093 would be a good choice, and would fit directly on to your mask. You can see this on our web page. pksafety(dot)com Search for 7093
Not sure which link you are looking at, but the mask can be found at pksafety(dot)com by searching for 3m 6800. Thank you for looking at my video. Very much appreciated. Rick

Can this mask be used with NATO 40mm filters? For emergency uses such as a pathogen break out or biochemical gasses, etc.?

Do you know how I can determine which size would suit me? Is there a specific way of measuring my head that I need to know before ordering from you?
Thanks

What size mask and what filter do I need to buy for that mask?
LLLTTTCCC 1 year ago
Respirator mask size depends on face size. Vast majority use Medium Size. Very small, or very large faces use those sizes.
Filter to use depends on the application. For instance, Lead Dust would use the 3M 2091 or 3M 7093 P100 (HEPA) filters.
