The training itself, the running, exercises, marches, shooting and hand to hand is supposed to be what makes a good soldier.there should be plenty of mental and physical fatigue from that. A recruit, is supposed to be your student, your comrade, your younger brother in need of your counseling and wisdom. They aren't supposed to be a punching bag and the butt of stupid pranks.

My battalion XO in 98 wrote his doctorate Paper on the history and Methods of Marine Corps Recruit training, It pretty much got out of hand From the early 60s to early 70s. Thats when there was a lot of Brutality. The Marine Corps had to do f revisions in order to keep congress of them.

@83057kad Dude, I don't speak Russian but I do know more than a little about training recruits. The training itself, the running, exercises, marches, shooting and hand to hand is supposed to be what makes a good soldier.there should be plenty of mental and physical fatigue from that. A recruit, is supposed to be your student, your comrade, your younger brother in need of your counseling and wisdom. They aren't supposed to be a punching bag and the butt of stupid pranks.

@Ettoredipugnar i went through PI in 1980, and was on the drill field as a hat and 1st sgt in the 90's... MOst of the crazy stuff has been cut out but training is just as hard or even harder in some instances. My battalion XO in 98 wrote his doctorate Paper on the history and Methods of Marine Corps Recruit training, It pretty much got out of hand From the early 60s to early 70s. Thats when there was a lot of Brutality. The Marine Corps had to do f revisions in order to keep congress of them.
