  • This man clearly has two brains!

Don't dismiss the tunings without checking the other videos. Better still, prove you can do better...

  • closed my eyes and I could practically smell the popcorn.

  • Im hearing john bonhams moby dick solo when he does the bass drum and hi-hat 123-123 which is in 3/4. he got his from max roach but his is in 5/4

  • the tuning place called. they want to have a look at your toms.

  • @PhireXZ Those sound good actually, they sing and arent dull

  • @PhireXZ Yeah man, Its not about having low toms which just sound like slapping some fat chicks ass

  • Fuck Yeah!

  • Je déteste le son de ta batterie :s

  • Get some better toms! Holy shit they ruined the great flow between the snare and cymbals because they sounded so cheap in comparison. or at leas better heads or something to end their 80's nightmarish sound

  • Get some better toms! Holy shit they ruined the great flow between the snare and cymbals because they sounded so cheap in comparison.

  • i can see the elvin jones influence for sure

  • you just took this from Nel peart and changed it a bit

  • dude, your toms are a bad thing!! your ability however is incredible

  • Sir, you are too good for that weak kit.

  • nice one!!!!

  • kit blows, drummers great

  • simple answer for this guy...robot

  • wow

  • @krissboy12 nahh.. the only thing Neil Peart here is the hairdo =) haha. i totally mean that in a good way! GREAT DRUMMING! maybe i'll be like this guy.... in like 30 years =p. ah well,, baby steps. lol

  • ...buddy rich much?

  • for some reason, this hurts my brain =X

and is incredibly hard to understand in full.

I mean in full full. not just the pacing and rhythm but gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah brain freeze.

  • That was incredible. Very nice stick work..very clean. I hope to master time like you have.

  • awesome man...

  • Yeah. I know what you mean ;^). Great sound !

  • amazing keeping the feet going

  • Top Notch / World Class

  • all i cn say is NICE

  • thats a good way to realise polyrhytms

  • good combo of Max Roach and Neil Peart

  • wow

  • Great independence-very crisp phrasing.

  • this sounds exactly like neil peart's drum solo

  • Nice rhythm, Very low snare though (positionally) and some odd sounding toms :)

  • Sorry both wrong :)

    My inspiration came from,

My Favorite Things - John Coltrane

    Elvin Jones on Drums

  • @regmarshall Naw, he just means that you're using the basic rhythm from any drum solo that Peart plays to ground yourself. This is really good!

  • @regmarshall : what about Max Roach?? this poly rhythmic idea was first used by Max, I believe.. anyway, you are a very nice drummer with highly trained brain.

  • Dong-Dong....

  • Neil got it from Max Roach's "The drum also waltz's".

  • Terrible tom-tom's sound!

  • Agreed. And does anybody else think he looks like Will Sasso? (the fat guy from Mad TV)

  • well some eople like that sound. not to mention the fact that the style of music influences the sound someone wants their toms to make.

  • WOW... THAT LOOKS REALLY HARD...

    hahaha

  • Oooohhhh yeah, he's playing all bullshit with his hands while keeping the hat and the kick in perfect beat. this guy is frickin sweet actually

  • Real cool!

  • this should just be an independence exercise more than polyrhythm practice since you're not even playing a straight polyrhythm. it's just doing what you want basically on top of the 1-2-3 of the feet

  • thats not hard your not even playing 4 against 3 your just playing the quarters in 3/4 with your feet then playing bull shit with your hands

  • Im with you on this one cause i know i could definitely play this shit its easy. hes goes in and out of 3/4th and 4/4ths with his hands and stops to get his beat constantly.

  • NICE

  • very good!

  • Did you get this from Neil Peart - Exploration #1? It sounds quite similar. Good though.

  • Well, if you´re talking about the waltz thing, Neil didn´t created it, he just made it famous.

  • How do you play rimshots on snare that low

  • nice

  • it sounds sweet

i dont really dig the toms... but then again i do... anyone else feelin me?

  • It's definitely got more of a Dennis Chambers vibe then neil peart.

  • think i hear some neil peart in there.

  • xD not so difficult :o

Your toms sounds like bongos xDD

  • Sounds like Neil Pearts O Baterista

  • This is isn't so difficult..

  • i tried this the other ended up day and just ended up working triplets off around the kit and then going into 5/8 fills which i was quite proud of

  • is he using a french grip?

  • I think you are extremely stupid person

  • And I don't think you're stupid cuz I don't care who you are and what you think

  • WTF...are you stupid or something?

  • drum solo's with music however arent solo's at all

  • True, you have won the internet

  • beast

  • omg how the hell u manage to coordinate?

  • very nice work!

  • check out Joe Morrello

  • oh hey there neil pert you look different

  • max roach did it too

  • it's not even a "Neil Peart thing"...even he advises his solo was inspired by an idea from a drummer prior to him

  • Pretty sure thats how music works anyways. You hear something, it inspires you, and you create something unique. All music is preceded by what inspired it.

  • yup

  • that's not a neil peart thing. playing to certain signatures doesn't indicate that you're taking someone else's "thing"

  • can anyone say neil peart?

  • Nice work!! I can't seem to do polyrythmns yet, nice tones on your toms.

  • wow fantastic!

  • 5 stars, need better sounding drums though. At least get rid of the Remo black dot's..god those suck. The four limb true independence...Bravo.. this is definitely a feat of it's own. I've read that the human brain can concentrate at two things at once. Two time signatures for example. But if your able to compile one or more actions into an automatic then it's almost like freeing up the mind for other tasks. Wicked shit.

  • I salute you my bald friend! As good as it gets

  • Brilliant.

  • his hats and base never skip a beat.if you watch his hats but listen to what hes playing with his hands it almost twists the mind.its almost like "not of this world".but hey!is that what they mean by independence? five stars.

  • HOLY FUCK THATS AMAZING

  • thats amazing.. Some wont understand how complicated this really is

  • Yeah seriously, I show this to my friends and they're like "what's so cool about it?" and I just sigh and say "you'd have to be a drummer to understand"

  • lol just tell them to try it

  • Nice, my brain would implode trying to play some of that. The feet never miss a beat.

  • i'm fifty year old,and it's very encouraging

to sea "not a yang fellow" play the drums as is.

i like the way, sound, structure. very nice.

  • Awsome mate. :)

  • yes very "Peartesque". great work. 3/4 is fun as hell to play.

  • That was mighty,regmarshall.Praise.

  • I love the 3/4 rhythm :) gettin tired of the 99.99% of music that has 4/4

  • Reminds me of Neil Pearts solo from the beginning. Awesome drumming Reg, I need to work on mine. =]
