I had a Queensland Heeler, and he was 13y/o untill he ran away, but he was in perfect health they could easily do 15 if you take good care of them. I've had alot of dogs but Cattle Dogs by far are the best breed i have ever owned, And the ones my family have had around were always Loyal to the Family and Very Protective, Honestly you can't go wrong with these dogs.

@Jackinaplane They live long. Mine died when she was 14 years old but not from old age she got really sick. We think it was cancer. Anyways they life a couple years longer than that.

@Jordan3445 Uhm im not completely sure but they are definetly more than 500 dollars. We used to breed them so i thinkw e got like 600/700 each

@Jordan3445 Go to your animal shelter, there are a lot of abandoned puppies there. They got desexed but got health checks etc.

@Jackinaplane Lets just put it this way... They dog that is the record holder for oldest dog is a australian cattle dog. :)

Average life span is 12 years, but I'd expect it to live much longer than that. :)

Awe. I love these dogs. We have two that just had their...forth, litter if I'm not mistaken. The daddy, "Toby" is white! ^_^ We keep hoping for another white puppy but they all blue/gray out within a few weeks. Either way, as many have said, best dogs on Earth. Loyal, faithful, excellent family dogs and energetic.
