Will I hear them saying N-ING-XIA Red, personally. But they two words do sound similar. Aside from that, it's Chinese and not all words in other languages are pronounced exactly as spelled. Like Jorje in Spanish is pronounced "Hore-Hay" even though it has two "j"s. And, as another saying goes - a rose by any name...You can call it whatever you like. I have a friend who calls it Big Red. I can just testify that it works - however your pronounce it!
