  • Nice response. 5'd 'n subbed. Unless you're a natural public speaker, I think reading from a script makes videos flow better.

  • Indeed, that's the reason why I've taken to them, it's much easier to talk to a microphone than to a camera.

By no means am I a good public speaker, and at the moment, I'm only really going to do actual videos (with my ugly mug in them), if a stream of conciousness is the point of the video.

  • Good response to TAA Lewis. Five stars and a subscription.

  • Galileo was a devout Christian Creationists until his dying day.

Galileo was employed and supported by the Church.

His work was a Church project. Galileo himself was a Church product.

    and,

In this case the Church was towing the Scientific Method and NOT Galileo (on this hitch).

    Surprised?

Galileo actually did NOT show his work. He did NOT actually show numbers for his case.

It was his 'hypothesis' and yes.. much much later it turned out he had it,

    but,

At the time he did NOT have the science.

  • @ElProximo - What are you saying? He was put on trial for publishing the book "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems." It has lots of numbers. The Church banned the book. Galileo was found "vehemently suspect of heresy" and placed under house arrest.

  • Yeah, he was on the right track but his friend (and boss) the Pope asked him to hold off until they had more.

The Pope supported Galileo who decided to be a massive dickhead and surprise attacked the Pope in a published book,

    and,

Yeah, he did get put under.. ahem.. 'house arrest' (wink wink) and lets put it this way - you and I WISH we got to live in his 'house arrest',

    but,

He was a dick but also a very devout Christian till the very end.

  • The scientists of old had no choice. To denounce christianity would and did get you burned! The church gives up its stupid untenable stance when science makes them look ridiculous. The Roman Catholic Church even officially accepts the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Loonies like Nephilimfree hang onto his geocentric clap trap (earth the centre of the universe) one hundred years after his church gave it up!

  • You are repeating an antichristian myth which is told for the purpose of creating a 'false dichotomy' between 'science versus religion' and all this crap.

    No.

Scientists of old WERE THE CHURCH. They were the clergy, the Popes, the monks, the men sponsored by the Church,

    and,

they developed the modern scientific method.

Someone will find ONE example in 2000 years (Bruno maybe) and tout this like it 'goes to show'.

    No.

    Church birthed modern science.

    Yes really.

  • 'Church birthed modern science.

    Yes really.'

Kinda wonder why they tortured and burned anyone who proposed a round Earth or that the Earth was not the geocentic centre of the Universe.

If your claims are true the church would back stem cell research as guess what? Its modern science.....

  • Who was tortured or burned for proposing a 'round Earth' lol?

You just made this stuff up.

  • The church birthed science? Boy oh boy you done made my day! The Church that thought the Sun rotated around the Earth, something the Greeks knew 2000yrs before, lol! I suppose accusing women of being witches and burning them alive is science? Fuck me sweetcheeks ever heard of the Inquisition? Nice and scientific they were lol. Good with sharp edges and carpentry, hee hee....

  • Seriously - you are an idiot and should not be commenting on this topic.

Maybe you can read up on the history of the modern scientific method.

    And,

You would not even dare bring Greek Science into your high school. You would be failed immediately,

    and,

No, the Church did not order 'witch burnings,

    but,

you 'guffawing' about a handful of bad incidents out of 2000 years and billions of people doesn't magically change the reality:

    - Modern Science is directly from The Church.

    Remains true.

  • 'The Church did not order witch burnings'

Actually there you are right. They ordered the torture and burning of innocent women they ignorantly labelled as witches. Fuck me next you'll be telling us you believe in God, lol!

  • If you actually cared about knowing something...

...'witch burnings' is more legend than history but there were towns throughout history that took it upon themselves to occasionally eliminate hated neighbours.

In 2000 years and billions of people over thousands of towns and cities... ya, stupid stuff has happened.

But 'Witch Burning' was not a Church thing.

    it was a 'locals thing'.

    but,

you're trolling so you don't actually care lol

  • Ha ha priceless! So the Spanish Inquisistion never accused anyone of witchcraft? They never burned anyone?

Brother where the f**k do you get this shite?

  • Stop pretending like you are scoffing and knee-slapping.

It really makes you look like a douche and especially when readers investigate and find out I am most accurately telling you the truth,

    but,

Yes, there were 'inquisitions' where an average of about 10 Christians (deemed heretics) were executed every year.

Keep in mind - WAY WAY MORE people were executed for being 'horse thieves' and any other number of offenses,

    but,

yes, inquisitions have sprung up and were shut down.

    So what?

  • Ha ha only 10 a year so thats ok then, right? You evil bastard. Lets not even mention the salem witch trial, eh?

  • Yes, about 20 people were once accused of being witches in some colony a few hundred years ago.

Again, this was not sanctioned by anyone. It was locals eliminating some neighbours,

    but,

Even though I know you are losing sleep over some Christians being executed hundreds of years ago..

...how does this 'cancel out' the fact that the Church developed the Modern Scientific Method?

    It doesn't.

  • Ahhh I get it. I was going to start a listing of over 500 scientists mudered and tortured by the Church then it clicked. You're janking my chain, its an Edward Current job and boy you had me there lol!

I love satire, should have seen it but with nutjob fundies like VFX, YokeUp, Nephilimfree and that fat bastard NightVisionPhantom you never know. Cheers......

  • You again.

No, you were not going to start a list of scientists murdered and tortured by the Church.

You might have started but then realized you were going to make walk into it again,

    but,

again, no matter how many 'bad incidents' you can cherry-pick out of BILLIONS of people over TWO THOUSAND YEARS and over large portion of the Earth and its nations...

....you still are not 'canceling out' the well-documented fact that the Modern Scientific Method was born directly out of the Church.

    Yep.

  • 'Scientific Method was born directly out of the Church.'

You are brilliant! That one made me piss! Why not do the one where the Church attacked Benjamin Franklin for inventing the Lightning Rod? Hee hee the Church attacked him as they claimed lightning was Gods tool for punishing sinners! Honest to God you're good, lol! Pls stop it now some retards will fall for it. Peace....
