  • God, games like these make me wish i didn't have a fear of first person games. I'm trying to play it, but I just can't relax! I'm afraid i'll turn a corner and find some kind of monster or something (this is my adhd impared mind's doing, i know it) It is a very good game, but i'm just to afraid to play it happily

  • Ninja, there are no monsters or enemies anywhere. You will never have to worry. :)

  • I just played it.

The thought put into this game is just amazing.

I played it for 2-3 hours, and I am only half-way through, with 12 minutes left on the timer.

Why pay 20 bucks on Portal, when you have this game?

  • @Kirbysvids Hey thanks!

Also... as for the "why pay" thing, no no! Pay for it when it's released! This game is going to be released commercially in 2010, and be far superior to even what you're playing as the mod! :)

Another point - You're nowhere near half way through at all. Trust me. You've still got hours to go. The game does not have linear progression whatsoever, and that relates to the time component as well. :)

  • thoughts like this should be put in to most games in my opinion. ;D

  • @gleneth00 Unfortunately though, games like this will never reach commercial success, everyone wants LOLCALLOFDOODY games that require no thought whatsoever over games like this. it's sad, but it's the truth

  • @Ondori412 The trailer of this game pretty much sums it up as to why it will never reach commercial success. What do games have? A story, enemies, characters, some thought and skill etc. This game possesses only a few of those qualities needed for a game... I like this game because it's focus is to teach us about life, but what I don't like is how they presented it... The environment looks plain and lonely. A game about life is a great idea, but as to how to present it is the challenge.

  • @HonorGuard117 I wouldn't be so sure.

What was shown in both this video and the trailer you're referring to are very old. New trailers can be made (and will be), and there's plenty of stuff happening in the background of which you're not aware. Also, saying that games have a story, enemies, characters etc isn't always true. Where is the story, enemies and characters needed in Bejeweled, for example?

Hazard is not a normal game, but that doesn't mean it isn't interesting / fun for players.

  • @Demruth Ah, yes, I was closed-minded with my previous comment. Yeah, there's a difference between arcade games and actual games that have a story and characters. However, I find this game odd. The idea is great, and how they implemented that idea was innovative, but what I didn't like was the art direction of the game. The environment looks dull, one that I don't want to stay around in and play :/

  • @HonorGuard117 Art styles are very subjective. I don't like games that are hyper realistic. I find them boring and overdone. What works for one person may not work at all for another. There were plenty of design reasons as to why this art style was chosen though. But "I don't like the art style" is a pretty different statement to "this won't succeed at all!"

It's hard to understand why the game works without actually playing it. And there's no recent version to play yet.

  • @Demruth That's true, but art style does make up a big part of the reason in how a game will succeed. What you play in has to look good visually. Think of games such as BioShock, Fallout 3, or even simple arcade games such as LIMBO etc. Games that are visually stunning appeal to us, whereas games such as this (whether the idea be great or not) doesn't. Maybe if they had put more effort to the environment you were going to be playing in, this game might've won me. But I'm different from you.

  • @HonorGuard117 When you say "they", you're referring to me. I made the game. In any case, there were a whole lot of reasons for the art style, and there are plenty of people for whom the art style DOES win them over. Though you have an issue with it, there's plenty of people who have LOVED seeing it all in action. Again, you're looking at some very old footage, not playing the game. It's not a case of putting "more effort" into an environment when high detail wouldn't work with the mechanics! :)

  • Woo go Alex!!! :P from ToyBoy.

  • I had an integral part in the making of this game, and yet I don't get credited, where's the justice? :P

Well done Alex on your achievment, the game is worth it.

  • Yeah, I don't consider playing the game part of "making the game", unfortunately. :P

  • You don't? Wow, you and I differ in that respect :P

  • Hooray. This video is finally online. *saves*
