I am using windows 7 with 2-260's in sli with a 8800gt for physx and when I ran dxdiag it says I am running DirectX 11.

I am also using Nvidia 3d, maybe the driver for it use DX11. I wasn't paying that much attention when I installed. Hope that helps a little in your search.

Why do you make a video about DX11 and pretend you know everything about it, when that's completely NOT TRUE!

DX11 will support the GeForce 8 series and up. DX 11 can work with DX10, DX10.1, and DX11. It also adds some features to the existing DX10 API (what features wasn't made clear by Microsoft at this point).

So to sum up:

- You can keep your DX10 GPU

- DX11 works with 8 series and up!

- for full advantages you should get a DX11 GPU as they come out.

The ATi Radeon 5 series and the nVidia GT300 series will support full DirectX 11 and rumors state that the 5 series will support DirectX 11.1. They will probably be released end of 2009 or early 2010, can't be exact though.

don't take this the wrong way, but that's not how it works at all. today's video cards are easily powerful enough to run DX11. DX11 actually gives a 15-30% performance boost over running DX10 on the same software due to it's optimised rendering algorithms. for software, there is nothing that supports it, and as for hardware, nothing supports it either, but it could... and probably will, soon. that's up to them how they decide to implement it into the market.

As my comment didn't get posted (strange thing) I again begg you to inform yourself better, before you try teaching us things.

DX10.1 is supportet ONLY by AMD/ATI Cards, no Nvidia Cards run it because they think it is not necessary. Also DX11 doesn't run on DX10.1. Some effects yeah but the main new thing (tesselation) won't because it's not compatible to ATIs implementation. If you want to have pages where you get better, and more detailed informations,write pn pls and dont post untrtue things

I don't understand why you make videos where you want to tech US something about DX. You say Geforce 285 supports 10.1? Lol the only cards that support 10.1 and have the power for it come from AMD /ATI and are the Radeon HD 3xxx and 4xxx series. NO GEFORCE AT ALL Supports DX10.1, Nvidia regards 10.1 as unnecessary (at least officially).

Not all DX11 things run in DX10.1 only compute shader. Tesselation of actual ATI Cards doesnt work with upcoming DX11 Tesselation.

Everything for DX11 will work with a DX10 graphics card apart from Tesselation which I think only ati DX10.1 cards will work. Tesselation is the key. ATI 3000 and 4000 cards work with DX10.1

I don't pirate them actually. If Anything, there may be a ripped .iso file that I use as a backup copy. But most games have a SecureDisc protection or similar. So it's pretty hard to bypass that and be able to run the mounted game with Daemon Tools.

And my HDD is 250GB, but I only have like 180GB for Vista, and about 60GB for Seven. The rest is secure partition backup.

GTX 285 supports only opengl 2.1 and not directx 11. Only Radeon 48xx support directx 10.1. For nvidia to support dx 10.1 is not a hardware issue. they can come up with new driveers that is dx10.1 compatible

sorry for the double post but im quite sure that the reason dx 10.1 gpus can handle dx11 because they have the discrete tesselation processor that normal dx10 cards dont have. no right now those tesselation processors do nothing; if you introduce dx11 they are turned on.
