Regardless, their hearts are in the right places, and they will love that baby for what it is, and however long it lives for. well it's all part of the culture. I do feel sorry for the child, but these things happen all the time, even in the more developed countries. We still have people raising children the "natural" way meaning no doctors, vaccinations, etc. I hate it, if the child lives long enough to adulthood, maybe she'll make better choices.

Nah just a bit ingorant. She does not understand the concept of belief, which is only fair. Not everyone understands. She does not realise that belief is taken in the most HIGHEST regard to alot of cultures, and many have much more trust in it than newage sciences and medicine. I think people should respect that. In their eyes, they were given a child, and they will accept whatever child the world decides to grant them. Some dont belive in going against the nature as its gods creation.

This is your misperception right there. In some peoples 'realities', their notion of god has a huge role to play in their lifes. Not everyone treats simply science and medicine as reality. Others have chosen god to be a very real aspect of their lives. Therefore when they say this child is in the hands of god, that is very much their reality.

Nothing that can be done except leave the family deal with it however they feel they should. Regardless, their hearts are in the right places, and they will love that baby for what it is, and however long it lives for. Alot of peoples misperceptions is that there is a level of cruelty by not seeking medical attention. But that is not the case at all. These people truely belive that there is more to life than what meets the eye, and believe the life of their baby is out of their hands.

um i think its fair to say that you have absolutely no idea about some peoples beliefs and how important it is to them. You are looking at it from an entirely one sided perspective. 'Belief' means to have total faith in something. If you have total faith in something, why worry? or why use medicine? You gotta understand that some people think like this. Its their freedom to do so. Some people accept the world for what it grants them. Respect that.
