  • how can you dislike this guys video, hes so calm and he knows what hes talking about.

  • nice vid :)

  • @skatebboard Thanks!

  • now who likes fender be honest

  • Great explanation........................

  • Finally a great vid. Thanks for posting this.

  • You're quite welcome.

  • haha ok..great video anyway :) btw wheres episode 1? i cant find it..

  • It's been so long that I honestly don't remember, but... I think it's a video that should still be up on my channel named "Bb"

  • just put "Bb catchflipside" in the search bar. Should be the first one.

  • that helped alot..thanks alot :) id like to see inside of the guitar more though..

  • If I knew anything about the innards of an electric guitar, I'd definitely do a video on it. But, I'm completely ignorant when it comes to that part of a guitar. I leave that to the luthiers.

  • great video! i found wat i needed, thank you very much!

  • You're very welcome!

  • how much was your guitar?

  • Including the setup work, the compensation nut, and the fat finger.... probably $1400. Just the guitar by itself was around $1200.

  • oh wow, okay ,so how do i know if certain guitars are good deals and not just a rip off?

  • Well, usually when it comes to guitars, you get what you pay for. I mean, of course there are some exceptions to the rule like extremely limited run models that cost like $17,000 each. Best bet is to play 'em and see how you like 'em. My dad, for example, plays a Squirer Strat that's had a lot of work done to it (setup work and all three pickups replaced), and he loves it! That may be plenty for what you want.

  • My old guitar teacher told me that I had a very nice guitar (the one in this video), but there are several out there that are probably at least as good that don't cost as much. For example, the Fender Deluxe American Precision Bass is a BEAUTY of a bass, and it has everything I could want in a bass.

But, the G&L Tribute has everything the Fender bass has and a lot more for probably near half the cost. And G&L was Leo Fender's last company before he passed away.

  • THANK YOU!

  • nice guitar it looks custom

  • thts a great video i know the parts preetybwell now.thnx

  • Alright I know what all the parts on my guitar are :) I just bought it 2 days ago and started playing around with it yesterday I'm going to try and tune it now

  • Noooice!

  • you look cool

  • Ummm... thanks?

  • Only Affinity and Squirer Strats are made outside of the US or Mexico. Only Standard Strats are made in Mexico. All Deluxe strats are made in the US.

  • hey those 3 things well one of 2 of them are moving their together i have a maple guitar i think im not sure but i can make a video of the whole entire guitar and u can see what kind it is message me

  • Very very helpful. Thanks!

  • Thanks a lot!

I just started playing and this video was really helpful.

  • good video! thank you CatchFlipsidE for this one =)

  • You're very welcome :)

  • Fender Rules ! nice

  • you forgot to show that piece of wood behind the bridge or sumthin

  • Piece of wood behind the bridge? On a Fender Strat? You sure?

  • well i think u said sumthin like that u put a piece of wood under the bridge to make it not do a noise or sumthin

  • You mean the blocked bridge? The piece of wood that's underneath the plastic cover on the back that keeps the floating bridge from moving anymore? Yeah, I didn't take the back off the guitar to show the floating bridge mechanics or the block that stops mine from floating anymore.

  • thanks dude

    that was so helpful

    keep it up

  • I appreciate it!

  • i like your guitar

  • I really appreciate the compliment.

  • Do you have lipstick on?

  • Why? Does that turn you on? *kisses*

  • ABSOLUTELY loved this video :)

Really helped me with things I have been wondering about.

  • hey im just getting into guitar and ive been reading a lot about it.. one quiestion of somthing u didnt mention. wats a humbucker? might be a stupid question i dont know

  • Single coil pickups (like the ones found on most strats) have a tendency to pick up electrical signals from things like florescent lights. If you put two coils side by side making a dual coil pickup, the pickup no longer picks up the signal. The signal picked up by the single coil pickups usually sounds like a hum. The dual coil pickups don't have this problem and are therefore called "humbuckers."

  • thanks a lot:)

  • heyman i got a Qs am a noob i wanna learn 2 play Gutar but which one would it be easyr for me to play bass or Ele?

  • a bass has 4 strings and a electric has 6

  • you have to be an idiot not to know this stuff about guitar

  • i love how with every youtube video theres always that one douchebag(in this case, said douchebag is you) that has to leave a stupid comment like that so everyone can see how much of an ignorant moron they are. this guy went to the trouble of making an informational video to teach some people with less knowlege about guitars, which i'm sure not even you knew at one point in your life. In conclusion, thank you for showing everyone there still are good old fashioned assholes left in the world

  • Blackzo's first words was 'HUMBUCKER'

  • :) Thanks!

  • dude ur vids rock

  • Thanks!

  • Good Job, one of the better vids about the basics of electric guitar parts I've seen.

  • Thank you very much! :)

  • I've recently bought a new electric and your vid is very interesting, helps explain some of things that I was wondering about my guitar.

  • yeh couerdalene yur aboslutly right... omg lol think u can have a gf a life.. and a job and still have 10 mins of boredum time left...

  • Thanks for the lesson. I had a guitar a few years back and took lessons and I was never taught the parts of the guitar. I recently bought another guitar and want to learn all about it. Thanks for making this video and ill be sure to check out your other videos too!

  • Wow thank you for making this video im going to begin guitar lessons soon.

  • hey, i made my guitar for my college project. i was wondering if you could show me how the bridge is meant to be with the strings, as in, how the strings should sit with the saddles. im having trouble setting mine up cos its not perfect. i need to make a new nut for it, but first i want to fix the bridge so that i can move on to the nut. could you make a video of that? thanks.

  • nice guitar man how much u get it for n where :P

  • I think it was $1200 at musician's friend (do a google search...online store, but you can't put URLs in comments).

  • fender does not make one-piece-necks, its a maple neck with a seperate maple fretboard. but it don't matter:P

  • I stand corrected.

  • thank you for this video man, very informative

  • Glad I could help!

  • the is the kind of video that is made when you have no job, no girlfriend and no life and one hell of a lot of spare time. lol

  • why does this guy keep looking at his computer??

  • sweet, thanks for that informative video

  • No problem at all

  • ohh, so that's how you change strings.. thanks!

  • on occasion, haha he uses it all the time

  • Eddie Van Halen uses the Tremlo bar on occasion, also.

  • only songs i can think of with a tremolo bar is stuff by jimi hendrix and the song "apache" from the shadows, don't know what area you live in, but apache is the theme song to "wild chicago"

  • you really know your stuff!!! very informative!
