  • Ok, lemme clear something up... southpark isn't saying the movie was bad. they were making fun of the audiences reaction. this is why 13 year olds shouldn't watch southpark, foul language is the only thing that makes it 17+.

  • Ok, ok ok ok, let me get this straight... surviving a nuclear explosion in a lead lined fridge can absolutely ruin a movie, but jumping out of an airplane with a life boat and landing on the ground with a scratch is a-ok? FANS MAKE SENSE!!!!

  • I like how all the fans think they know what makes an Indiana Jones film, when they are missing the point entirely. Guys, Indiana Jones isn't about Religious artifacts or realistic action scenes. They're all about making throw backs to old adventure films made in the 30's, and since this came out 20 years since the previous, it instead referenced the 50's, WHICH, might I add, had a LOT to do with aliens!

  • Okay, so ghosts are aloud in an Indiana Jones movie , and people sitting down for a thousand years protecting the thing, but aliens that's a big no no, the fuck?

  • Stephen Speilburg didn't even want to make this movie, but George Lucas gave him the googley eyes and this turd was made

  • The originals were violent, fun, and the stunts and action were pratical, realistic, yet absurd. THIS movie had the WORST chase scene ever. The cgi bullshit, the aliens, Indiana Jones being old as shit, and a nobody dies brutally, shows this isnt an indiana jones movie. This movie is WEAK

  • @superhuman295 Nobody died brutally, besides the guy that gets EATEN ALIVE BY GIANT ANTS and the chick that spontaneously combusts from the inside out due to an overload of information or whatever haha ;)

  • @GNoodle thats not brutal. Thats cartoon deaths from a xbox 360 game :(

  • @superhuman295 Haha fair enough.

  • wait so GOD is more believable than aliens..??

  • @GNoodle i did like the movie, however, most of the worlds population believe in a God, so I'm going to have to say yes, he is. I still liked the movie, though :3

  • Crystal Skull was fun adventure film, like the originals. Indiana Jones films were always far fedged and silly but when this came out people flipped their shit. These days people only remember bad thing's from film's and seem to forget all the good part's... bunch of ignorant shit's.

  • @92SoMaLu92 compared to originals and everything that SPECIFICALLY made those great, i flipped my shit too

  • They actually liked this piece of shit movie? What the hell were they smoking?

  • Any day now plinkett from redlettermedia is going to review this movie. And who knows? It might be really fair I mean he gave the star trek movie a fair chance.

  • the thing that pissed me off were those god damn stupid monkies and gophers. Like no one laughed when it was supposed to be funny. And why the fuck were the monkies attacking the Russians?! Were they anti communist monkies who hated Russians? this movie was okay but a disappointment at the same time.

  • I still find it ironic that not only do mainstream professional critics, and the popular online critics like Spill and JamesNintendoNerd, all give this film good reviews but so many fans just whine, b*tch and moan about everything they can think of in the film. This may be the only case where the critics remembered to have fun and a lot of the audience did not.

  • @SLPIFan I believe it was lets do this where Korey and Cohost both said they regretted giving it a full price and more evidence of it can be found in the Tintin review and pirates 4 where Korey said that both were a better indiana jones movie then Crystal skull.

  • Wait wait wait. The movie ended with God damn aliens and Co-Host's issue was with a tough, in-charge female villain? I'm going to have to side-eye this review really hard.

  • i agree with this review even if it did get slammed by critics

  • Awful film. From the moment that CGI chipmunk popped up in the first minute I knew it was going to be shit. This was almost as bad a sequel as the Matrix ones.

  • This film was so unfairly criticised. It was a fun Indy adventure and the aliens where just a throw back to the 50's. It was never going to be better than raiders, but neither was the last two, but it was a decent addition to the series. People are such asshole, whinge bags these days. Yes there was things in it that could have been dropped, but you can say that about practically any movie! It done well critically and financially, so to hell with all the haters! Great review Spill team!

  • @paulod27 I personally enjoyed Last Crusade more than Raiders. I finally watched the movie today and have to say that it could have been a lot better had they not completely ruined your sense of disbelief. Indy surviving an nuclear explosion just goes too far. I don't mind when the action gets kinda silly and fun, but this movie got stupid.

  • @Pgaither84

I never saw how that was that much more far-fetched than the thank fall opening sequence of CRUSADE that shows Indy just so happening to get the scar on his lip, gaining a fear of snakes, first using a whip, and getting his iconic hat all in one afternoon. Fun, but unbelievable, sequences.

  • @SLPIFan How are those unbelievable? It's silly they all happen in one afternoon, but none of it is unbelievable. Surviving a nuclear explosion by hiding in a fridge and getting thrown in the air like that is.

Part of the fun of these action movies, as the Spill crew said, isn't "Is he gonna make it?" The fun is "HOW is he gonna make it?" The Nuclear bomb bit was stupid.

The movie was fun, but it could have... and SHOULD have been a lot better.

  • @Pgaither84

Within the 1950's context I thought it worked. That was what the government told people to do in case of that incident. A better example I should've used was the tank drop scene in CRUSADE, or the mine cart jump in TEMPLE. But I just found the opening of CRUSADE to be a real example of something I think people would've complained about had it not been in one of the classic film. To me it feels like a moment people wouldn't gone "Oh really. That's convenient."

  • @Pgaither84 (Continuation)

While I don't love the fridge scene I just personally think it gets zeroed on a bit too much. At least they tried something at an explanation for it and showed Indy using his head (the lead lining and what not) Those other situations, particularly the mine cart, are done by just sheer luck. And with how the tank scene was edited, how it played out seems almost impossible. And I guess I came off too hard about it, and for that i'm sorry.

  • @SLPIFan I like the idea of having a "nuke town" but it is really difficult to pull off because you really don't outrun a nuke. You die, or you get radiation and die. How is Indy not going to totally die of horrible radiation super cancer now? They didn't even have the Aliens fix him or something.

As far as other stunts, the idea is that Indy is lucky and/or a total bad ass. We just accept that. I don't mind the aliens like other people. Aliens likely exist, unlike the occult.

  • @Pgaither84

The radiation isn't the problem i the scenario. They made sure to point out that the fridge was lead lined, lead having the ability to act as a shield from radiation. The real unrealistic thing about the scenario is that in the real world he would have been burnt to cinders from the heat.

  • @SLPIFan Well yeah. i missed the led lined part. I watched it only once so far. Also... he would have broken so many bones from getting tossed like that even if he wasn't cooked alive.

  • @SLPIFan Uh look I was just watching a video and happen to come acros you, oke, sorry?? But now that I meet you I wanted to ask 1. do you think since yiou said you woukld you could please first comment on AOTC and LOD and KOTCS?? 2. Do you really think Doom also always comes below Raiders, I mean it had more buildup, and more abitious opening,Crusade lacked drama and Doom was more original?????

  • @paulod27 Do you also defend the Prequels???

  • @paulod27 They have since renounced this movie and pretty much agreed with the rest of the people who hated tis movie so ha

  • Comment removed

  • @paulod27 Because Indiana Jones brand condoms were an awesome idea and now they can't happen.

  • These guys obviously didn't see the ending... Aliens in Indiana Jones/ Fail!

  • @y3ll0ch0c0lat3

No, they just didn't think it hurt the film.

  • @y3ll0ch0c0lat3 explain. do you know what indiana jones is about?

  • Why do people say this movie sucks cause of the Aliens? So we can have ghost, heart pulling evil god worshiper, a knight who's been in a tomb for over a thousand years but no Aliens? hmmm

  • he's in a mental aslyum somwhere

    LOL

  • Im sorry the ALIEN concept ruined it for me THE ORIGINALS ARE THE GOOD ONES

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 Why? It's the '50s, Area 51, it made sense. Get over it. There's lesser qualities of the movie than ALIENS or SHIA!!!!

  • @Nintendorks12345 Really what happened to the original Indiana Jones the ones that inspired you to be a adventurer when we were little kids this is just crap. It wasn't original like the others.

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 Original? They're based on adventure serials from the '30s, some scenes in Raiders were even directly ripped from old serials. Seriously, the aliens were fine. Shit, aliens are more believable than the fucking holy grail. And don't give me that "well aliens aren't supernatural, they're sci-fi". The Crystal Skulls are based on actual artifacts and they just wanted to have some fun with it, aka do something original.

  • @Nintendorks12345 You make a good point but the thing is... I just couldn't get into this movie but hey everyone has there taste in movies and i respect your opinion

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 Well I thank you for respecting my opinion, I'm just sorry you couldn't move past the silliness and enjoy it.

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09

The originals (Ark comes to mind here) have "alien" elements. They're just no so obvious.

  • Comment removed

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 It's because the adventure indiana jones took on was way more interesting than this one... This one felt soo rushed for me and forced like if the alien concept was just thrown in there just to make another movie

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 so a man can sit in a room guarding for hundreds and a man can take someone's heart and live, but no for aliens?

  • @AKIDPRODUCTION09 But ghost that melt your faces are A OK.

  • i liked seeing the ark at the end.

  • what happened to carlile? u know that dude with the cap & sunglasses

  • aw they didnt bring the open racism of the 50s ;D

  • only review i disagree with. movie sucked nuts!

  • Comment removed

  • Did not hate this movie, but it is NOT in the same league is the original movies. It is better than Temple of Doom though.

  • @moviebuffreviews Temple of Doom is better to me.

  • that movie was a pos

  • I didn't absolutely love it, but i enjoyed it enough to buy it on bluray. There was a lot of unwarranted hate.

  • I loved this movie. Full price. i MEAN %100 FULL PRICE!

  • I agree with the spill guys. First half was great, second half was fantasy crap. Jaws would have been terrible if the shark machine had worked instead of being written around like it was. Sometimes it's better not to see the shark. At least in Raiders you still had no idea what all that biblical crappy really could have been after it was over.

  • WIN PRIZES! Sign up and make your OWN spill movie page at ------> spill.com

  • People hate this movie because a lot of theme are South Park whores.

  • @rivmikant uummm what?

  • Just because south park says it's shit doesnt mean you have to. Make up your own minds people. Great review

  • oh yeah he allso survives falling out of a plane with a rubber raft...guys i mean holy shit nit pick nit pick nit pick

  • oh my god.....this is fucking dumb you guys its indiana jones damnit its a movie just a movie i hate how you guys nit pick like the aliens the monkeys and all the other stuff but its ok if they find the holy grale that has been in a cave for a 100 years and a knight that has been there for 100 years and if theres a doll that hurts indie and survive falling from a FUCKING CLIFF IN A TANK THAT BLOWS UP! i mean wow..its indie its for fun i love this movie 10/10 stars

  • george lucas raped my childhood

  • Do they have a rating called, "I was robbed and assaulted by George Lucas"?

  • ohhh no, they love every movie...

  • Horrible movie! As a person that loves history and good movie making I can not stand iddly by and take a script that places Pancho Villa, a Mexican peasant revolutionary, down in Peru, speaking the local Inca language, re-discovering what amounts to an amalgamation of 3 cultures, maya, aztec and Inca and pretend that it's a south american setting. The Russians were just silly, the alliens were even worse, and the implications that alliens gave us human cultures is just insulting.

  • South Park got it dead on!!!

Temple of Doom was good and stupid in a Return of the Jedi kind of way, but it's WAY more enjoyable than the Crystal Crap. Little CGI gophers, the fridge, the monkey swinging Tarzan crap...just AWFUL!!!

  • its a terible story line worst out of all of the movies but it was still good

  • how is Indiana Jones even fucking alive

  • He's a badass, that's why.

  • the alien thing didnt bother me because these movies are far fetched the only thing i didnt like was the scene where mutt was swinging in the tree's with monkeys . like wtf

  • it was an great movie, but the alien thing at the end was kinda like "WTF"

but overall it was great to see harrison ford on screen playing indy after all those years of no indy movie for decades, and its great to see that he could still put on the suit as an old guy and still look badass

this movie showed that even if there characters became old, people would still pay 10$ to see there heros onscreen one more time!!

  • I had read all the terrible reviews of this movie, but I thought it couldn't be THAT bad, but oh man were they right about this one. This thing was "Batman & Robin" bad. Now I don't even mind the alien slant (goes with the 50's) and Harrison Ford was in good form, but the movie was just written and made so badly--it makes Temple of Doom look good.

  • @radioclash81

Even if you don't like it there's now way anyone could think it is BATMAN & ROBIN bad.

  • Meh to this movie.

  • I really enjoyed this movie actually, good to see Indy is back. Also to all the people saying that the aliens made the whole movie crap and didn't keep within the theme oof religious artifacts, think again.

Remember when Shia said "No man God's head is not shaped like that." what did Indy say?

"It depends on who your god it."

The aliens WERE there god, thus meaning the crystal skull was a religious artifact. So please, shut up and stop complaining.

  • @AshXXMayftw Thank you for saying that,i love this movie, and he has done things that no one would live through did anyone see the other 3 movies, but it's a Full Price all the way!

  • @Rycan18 People that try and look for logic in these movies must have never done their science homework

  • @AshXXMayftw so true,i mean they did shows on the crystal skulls and that they might be extra terrestrial, guess nobody watched them, and that people think aliens are gods like Indy said in the movie depends on who your god is,you know did the people listen to what he said? and i mean people do look for logic, did they not watch the other movies? These movies are just about having fun.

  • @AshXXMayftw i would like to see a 5th movie,people say they raped Indy,are you kidding me!

  • @Rycan18 They had an interview with the director and he said they might make a 5th one of the fans want another

  • @AshXXMayftw People have the right to vent on what they've paid for just like you have the right to like of what you've paid for but no one has the deliberate right to attack one's space so please be mindful of that.

  • TF2fan101@ I concor

  • this was a dismal movie. I wouldn't say some old bullshit, but it's a pretty goddamn low rental. the dialogue was bad, and so was he execution...but the whole thing wasn't as bad as say Mummy 3...I

  • First half of the movie -- HIGH matinee

Second half of the movie -- LOW rental

It got so much worse towards the end.

  • @kodatastical I love it....why are people shocked theres aliens in this movie ALL of the Indiana Jones have something to do with fantasy and historical facts(Sometimes).

  • Comment removed

  • spill guys were happier those days

  • theres a new movie coming out called Apollo 13. i kmow it as nothin to do with this movie but just wanted u guys to know.

  • I normally agree with your reviews, but this one just made me puke like in that South Park episode.

  • @Dashreddah You do realise that episode was taking the piss out of fanboys like you.

  • Whoa, what do these guys have against National Treasure?

  • @TF2Fan101 I know. National Treasure was pretty good.

  • Take it for what it is guys: a tribute to b movies and adventure serials. In that matter, its awesome, but it fell flat as and Indiana jones film. Try to think of it as it's own film and its actually really fun and enjoyable.

  • OH GOD! F*CK THIS MOVIE! *sobs*

  • You read the comment I made 5 months ago?

  • Oh c'mon! the stunts were one of the worst parts of the movie. Like Indy running on completely obvious plexi glass when he was in the rafters? God this movie sucked!

  • Phantom Menace ruined Star Wars, This movie wasnt really that bad compared to that.

  • @KRATOSRETURNSv2 what do you mean? the Phantom menace was great. the second and third ruined starwars.

  • @SketchySpartan PHAMTOM MENACE WAS UTTER UTTER UTTER SHIT.

  • @KRATOSRETURNSv2 come on wah wah grow up you fucking nerd.star wars episode 1 wasnt that bad.in fact star wars has always been like that:cheesy.indiana jones 4is shittier.quit bitching grow up move out of your goddamn mom's house get a job and stop bein a pussy.:)

  • @KRATOSRETURNSv2 agreed but Crystal skull was pretty lame too.

  • @ogfunk187 screw you.

  • I Enjoy This Movie and it is One of My Favorite 2008's Movies in 2# Place on My Top Spot

  • you know i grew up with the first 3 star wars movies and indy jones movies and i feel that this movie worked and was okay and can sit on the shelf with the others. while the star wars prequels can go fuck them selves.

  • the hell this movie was okay not the best not the worst.

  • This movie was terrible, quit making excuses as to why you think it was good. It was a huge waste of money and time and Speilberg should be ashamed of himself for making this film.

  • Everybody always nitpick on the refigerator and shit and how those things made it into a bad movie. Every single movie in this franchise has been very dumb and very cheesy adventure film. Just watched all the films again and when I was half way through on Temple of Doom, had just watched Raiders and knew how Crusade was gonna go (my favorite), I was wondering: "Indiana Jones is one stupid series! I mean, autograph by Hitler!? ut when you start complaining about this, you have missed the point

  • @Rangetrain Exactly, any fanboy that hates this film because it was unrealistic has completely forgtten the point of the I.J films. It's just meant to be a bit of fun. But when a series is as big as this, there's always going to be shit thrown at it, no matter how good it is.

  • this ruined the entire indiana jones movies for me. what a piece of corn smelling shit. why are aliens in a indi movie

  • it was ok

  • Let's act like this movie never happened.

  • @fghfghfgh93 Again why do people hate this movie so much for just little scenes that only lasted a few seconds? Movies are about escapism and entertainment but now people are not willing to suspend their believe as the should......that there is the death of cinema.

  • it still bugs me how they say shia la beuf cause they pranounce it boof when its suppose to be buff (i think)

  • AM I THE ONLY ONE ON THIS PLANET OF 30% of population who absolutely LOVED THIS FILM!!!?!? i hope not.... this was MY first experience seeing an Indiana Jones film on the "big screen" and i thouroghly enjoyed it!!

  • @SpiderBoy992 Me too! I agree!

  • @SpiderBoy992 its because you were probably too young to remember how great the originals were, this movie stunk.

  • @SpiderBoy992 me too!

  • @SpiderBoy992 No, you're ABSOLUTELY NOT so quit caring about what other people think.

  • @SpiderBoy992 I FUCKING LOVED THIS MOVIE!

  • @SpiderBoy992

    omfg

  • @SpiderBoy992 watch the three before crystal skull and you might decide their much better

  • @snika999 Temple of Doom sucks.

  • @SpiderBoy992 They already gave it a FULL PRICE. What more do you want?

  • @SpiderBoy992 I actually had the same reaction as the spill crew did, the " This is something special" reaction.

  • Says the anonymous virgin underneath this comment

  • BETTER THAN SEX!!

  • sorry guys but this was a very low rental, this movie was so bad that i had to walk out on it..

  • i did enjoy it and i like the action and the storyline and it did try somthing diffrent

    low full price

  • this is the first time I really disagreed with them.

  • If you don't think aliens/spacemen have nothing to do with mysticism or archeology... you obviously know nothing of a lot of native american myths/religions.

A lot of native american religions literally worship "sky people" cough aliens cough

  • they raped indy...

  • this was the first Indiana Jones film ive seen and i loved it and it got me into the Indiana Jones films

  • LOL! they were nazias not russians!

  • It's a fine movie. My only big issue with it is the CGI use. Several of the sets were ovbviously green-screened, and that's just not fitting for an Indy film.

Still, I had fun watching it, though the ending was a huge let down.

    Matinee.

  • I didn't like the movie at all, hated how 80% of the movie was made with CG, I mean is it so hard to make it look at least a bit real....also......the monkeys scene was one of the most stupidest scenes I've ever seen.

  • rental

  • i donno i liked this movie, i thought it was as good as the others, not better but it had the same feel, and if they can put demonic sacrifice in it y cant they put aliens?

  • the worst movie in mankind from what I hear

  • B- But it had CG gophers and Shia swinging through the jungle with monkeys! That means that the WHOLE movie sucked doesn't it? DOESN'T IT??

I don't know what to believe anymore!

  • shaya labuuuf! :)

  • dis movie was the best of the franchise!!!

  • "Have you seen the latest family?"

  • Wow.... I can't believe you guys gave this piece of garbage a full price.

First time I'm dissapointed with spill.com

  • i feel the review that south park made is better, more spot on! indy got raped

  • when the monkeys swung with shya lebuff (I don't freaking know how to spell it) from the trees I almost cried.

Why did they put so much unnecessary crap into this film?

  • is john hurt in this movie?

  • yeah

  • Full Price!! anyone who doesn't like this movie f**k u!!!!

  • Cant wait for Indiana Jones 5

  • The inclusion of aliens makes you rethink a few things:

There are no gods, only aliens.

The Lost Ark could have simply been a box that was booby trapped with alien technology.

The heart ripping man could have simply been an alien in disguise that can, well, rip hearts.

And the Holy Grail could have simply been a generating alien energy drink cup.

  • I still don't get WHY people hate it so much. It honestly wasn't that bad.

  • @ZoanBlade90 Who are you now? Butters? And thats not a compliment...

  • @ZoanBlade90 it's mostly because it doesn't go with the storyline. At least, thats why I didn't like it

  • @ZoanBlade90 maybe they got thrown off by the CGI gophers

  • @ZoanBlade90 Maybe because they never stopped to think what made the Indiana Jones flicks so great. This got a rating of 77% and Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • @ZoanBlade90 ya it was

  • @ZoanBlade90 Truth be told,it wasn't a bad movie,it just was a terribly disappointing one

  • he should have died in that motherfucking fridge, that stuff was bullshit!

    it was a good TRILOGY

  • I fell asleep when I saw this in theaters, no lie!!!

  • say shila buffs name right

  • "have you seen the latest family?" haha... true...

  • it fuckin sucked

    made no sense

didnt stick to indiana jones originality

  • I thougt this movie was horrible

  • As usual, right on every freakin' count.

  • I didn't see the huge deal with the bashing of this movie. I'm surprised to see that people hated the whole hiding in the fridge with the nuke thing, and then the aliens. Am I the only one that didnt have a problem with the fucking aliens? I meen shit..

  • @lilkid88 I know! Indy lives in a fantasy world, we all know that going into a movie with him. I actually liked this movie quite a bit. I never thought I'd get to see another indiana jones movie being released. I'm glad I got to. I was four or so when last crusade came out, so I didn't get to remember seeing it in theaters. If I did.

  • @lilkid88 I think it was sort of the implications that including Aliens had on the rest of the franchise. Indy has always gone after stuff with religious value, such as the ark, the grail, or the indian gods in Temple of Doom.

By adding Aliens, it could make people draw conclusions that the movies were saying Jesus was a space alien from mars all along.
