Toronto is a lot like an overcrowded but well run university. If you have a bad attitude about it, you'll have a bad experience. If you have a good mindset it's a great city. That being said I grew up in Vancouver and it definitely has some shittier districts than Toronto... There's no East Hastings out here.

@mcs240 Did you not go to, say, the Entertainment District at night on the weekend? There's activity there. I don't know exactly what kind of experience you had, but I don't often encounter people who treat me and others with rudeness, etc. I know I try to be nice to people, such as giving up seats on transit vehicles to the elderly and thanking employees after buying something.

There are so many night clubs, raves, etc.. going on, aldaline, entertainment district, bars, etc..its just like nyc..but a little nicer! Respond to this video... Don't think the problem is solely on the immigrant front, lot's of old Canadians display horrible behaviour on the TTC. Especially towards seniors and people with disabilities...
