  • International hardcore and punk (1980-1990) is where it's at

America is great, but you need to expand your punk to get a better feel for it

    i love this movie

  • what are the names of the songs?

  • Black Flag is the shit!

  • TSOL fucking housed all those shit bands.

  • Negative Approach! straight from Detroit!

  • Punk's not dead reson why aslong as there's still an underground band that dosen't sell out and stand for what they belive in then it will never die there for punk's not dead

  • zero boys are so fuckin annoying.. adolescents jfa and angry samoans ya!

  • fukk you zero boys are the shit

  • Bored and Lonely

    DATEHERWOW(.)COM_

  • zero boys!! indianapolis!!

  • those bands were cool. today the bands are lame, its funny when todays hardcore bands have a fat band member that wears tight jeans lol i just think thats hilarious.

  • @readysteadyno there are some pretty good new hardcore bands try trash talk, ceremony, or bracewar

  • WHOOO YEA! i'VE GOT THE CD that has about 24 bands among:black flag,d.o.a.,d.r.i,minor threat, the untouchables,

  • what is the name of the second song played?

  • DOA-The prisoner

  • Steven Blush jumped to a lot of conclusions on what was really

going on across the country with "hardcore" ; Get your facts

straight before you start bad mouthing cities and venues that

played an important role in keeping the music alive.

  • angnmini- Yeah I totally agree. I have the book, and he's a little less than objective...

  • no dead kennedys?

  • Good film but there is a chapter left out for whatever reason.

  • What is the song that is playing in the background in the begining?

  • Its Bad Attitude by Articles of Faith

  • i wish we could bring back those pits at 1:00-1:03, wut happened to just goin wild?

  • If you say Henry Rollins is a sell out than your a fucking moron that has never watched the Henry Rollins show. I hate the fucking kids of today who think that dressing in black and acting like a bunch of whiny faggots is hardcore. Its funny how even my parents think its cute how these hardcore kids of today think they are angry and hardcore, but yet conform to society.

  • @elskaboss are you trying to say hardcore does not exist these days? can you let me know what hardcore bands you are tlaking about when you posted that? just curious to see if we're on the same level, because i hate some hardcore bands but i do strongly believe hardcore is still alive and strong you just need to trawl through all the mainstream, post-hardcore and scene bullshit.

  • @simmo30394 There are still some hardcore bands out there that I still like but I really, really, really do hate toda's new hardcore because stupid fucking kids do some stupid dancing shit and act like a bunch of pussies who care about how they look and have no originality. I tried going more underground and listening to what is considered hardcore today but was dissapointed with stupid fucking vocals and beyond dumb lyrics that made no sense at all. I only like bands like Bane, Lionheart, Madball

  • @elskaboss never heared of any of those but my guess is that these bands

    /watch?v=EMP1I9CQ7FI

    /watch?v=uZCY7GitoSo

    /watch?v=o-7ZEiqct8E

are about a 1000 times more hardcore and legit than them or any fake-hardcore, just for being from the socal area alone, it's in the water down here.

  • but yeah it's pretty hard to get into the new weak false hardcore shit when amazing bands like TSOL, D.I., adolescents, circle jerks, agent orange, the vandals etc are still around and playing live shows.

  • @elskaboss k but calm down bro. rollins wasn't even the first bf singer. keith morris was.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Keith Morris was awesome when he was with BF. I still like Henry Rollins better and you're trying to make it seem like I didn't know this shit since I was only talking about henry rollins and not Keith Morris but either way BF is still the shit.

  • henry rollins isnt it?correct u fucking asshole suck my balls skate and destroy14

  • fuck yeah

  • can anybody direct me to any videos documentarys filmed at the olympic auditorium ,i remember being interviewed alot after the gigs but never asked where they were aired?????

  • shit, can someone please tell me the name of the last song? I've been trying to find it.

  • "the prisoner" by DOA

  • I saw DOA awhile ago I Met the whole band too, it was fucken awesome. i love living in a small city when it comes to shows

  • I haven't seen this it looks cool though. I cant believe DRI isn't in it. Everybody used to wear those t-shirts.

  • shut your mouth

  • where can I download this movie?

  • this is going to be so sweet!

  • I listen to all the new Hardcore stuff but i know where it came from and THIS IS IT. American Hardcore Music was one of the best types of music in the world. Its to bad it ended so shortly, and the way it did. But i think it will come back (just not the same way it use to be).

  • What is the last song in the trailer called and who is it by?

  • Could anyone do me a huge solid and tell me what the lyrics are to Bad Attitude by Articles of Faith? I can't seem to find them anywhere online and listening to the song over and over again only let me know some of them.

  • Yeah what the guy below me said. This is what hardcore of today came from. The real original hardcore punk. And not the new shit that people get confused with. Like drop dead gorgeous and shit. Thats like 80's glam rock in modern times. But anyway that Is NOT hardcore. This is hardcore.

    (Attitude's a pretty good band.)

  • regardless, this is actual, real, true, original hardcore punk. wheather you guys like it or not. these bands are what made what is now considered hardcore punk. and i say punk after hardcore cause theres a lot of dickhead "scene" kids out there that confuse the word hardcore with gay shit like underoath and douche bags like that. all in all... this is hardcore PUNK!

  • i would give my left nut to be at the show at 1:01

  • if you wanna hear some good modern hardcore true to its roots listen to Attitude.

  • I love that dude from the Circle Jerks, " And now I have a chance to go off. That's what it was. BOOM!!!"

  • thanks a lot!

  • This movie should of been called West Coast Hardcore. Everything west of Nevada blows. Especially Boston, what a joke.

  • boston is east of nevada...

  • nor*cal is west of nevada

  • your a fucking idiot

  • its not punk rock its classic hardcore your all fucking stupid shut up punks dead get over it go put a leather jacket on and kill yourself.

  • the new hardcore isnt really hardcore. it's just screamo. hardcore is a 30 second gets a point across. and the only reason you say punk is dead is because it isnt whats "hip" or "in" at the time. if rap wasnt as popular as it is, people would be saying rap is dead. but their music is influenced by big corporations

  • Who made the second song in this video?

  • DOA - The Prisoner

  • ummm.. Punk was Born When There was Fighting then Peace came In umm thought it was dead ...then again there was fighting .. fighting was getting stronger so peace created POP,TECHNO,LOVESONGS,EMO then fighting created PUNKROCK,POSTPUNKS,ETC.. and so on the war of peace and fighting .. thats what my neighbor said...hehehehehe..attitude man!!! FUCK ..

  • bad attitude by who?

  • oh, never mind, articles of faith

  • For the earlier post. The name of the song's called Bad Attitude

  • thx

  • It would be betta if it also talked about the hxc scene these days with newskool hardcore bands cos they are alot different now, it dosnt talk about madball and sick of it all etc does it?

  • this music sux

  • I prefer metal but it is still better than rap.

  • whats the name of the first song in the trailer?

  • Has anyone actually seen this movie? Did anyone else notice how they focused A LOT on Black Flag, Bad Brains and Circle Jerks? and where is DOA from?

  • wow, Keith Morris sure has a whiny annoying voice

  • Jbuitenveld..... ik vrees dat jij niks weet!!! Nederlandse hardcore heeft names gefaked!!! this is real original hardcore~!!! hardcore punk from the 80's!!! fuck yeah!!! ....HOLLAND HARDCORE is for rascists skinheads who don't know anything about musical value

  • i must correct that the hardcore techno is named hardcore and it started in 1990! The REAL Hardcore, Hardcore Punk etc started allready in 1980! so dont tell me things that real hardcore is Moh or thunderdome and this shit!

Stay Hardcore Guys because Hardcore Rules!!!!

  • THIS IS HARDCORE

    (youtube)/watch?v=ucCTpHdNqY4

now stop faking names and learn something about the world, YOU're not hard, you are gays

  • This was a great documentary. It shows the roots of how it all started, they didn't leave anyone out either. I think they put that Moby fag in there just to get more non-hardcore listeners to buy it..great marketing tactic.

  • WATCH IT ITS GOOD

  • who the fuck cares whats "hardcore" and whats "new metal" old metal punk jazz......... ITS FUCKING MUSIC GET A FUCKING GRIP fuck

  • rollins was good in black flag but now hes a fucking sell out

  • American Hardcore for life! This is the real Hardcore guys!!!!!!!!

  • YOU STUDIP FUCKS!

    this is not hardcore

    this is hardrock,

you stupid americans hardcore allready exists come to holland for hardcore, cuz we will beat guys like you there. hardcore is BASS. you fucks dont know shit of the world.

    HOLLAND HARDCORE

  • Fuck you faggot, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Negative Approach, The Adolescents, Scream, Germs, The Replacements, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, DOA, YDI, MDC, Etc... They created hardcore from the ground up, so go learn some better English then comm back and talk to me you faggot ass bitch boy.

  • what happened to the misfits? did everybody forget about glenn danzig?

  • The misfits are NOT hardcore punk, they're closer to the ramones than any of the bands I existed.

  • That's true, but they did become big in the hardcore scene.

  • Hardcore is short for HARDCORE PUNK U FUCK.

stop being so narrow minded, Your Shit is techno.

  • Why do you think it's called AMERICAN hardcore you idiot.

  • fuck everyone who thinks that these bands are not hardcore. if anything, "hardcore" bands of today arent hardcore...these bands started the shit!

punk will never die! punk is an aditude, a way of life, and music that will never be silenced!

  • Does anyone know who the first song in this trailer is by?

  • Articles of Faith.

  • Oops. That was supposed to be a response to the q below about who the band at the beginning was.

  • Do you know the name of the song thats in the end of the trailer

  • D.O.A. - The Prisoner

  • i love lamp.

  • There wasnt enough bad brains in this film, but it was still pretty.

  • title of second song being played in this trailer? somebody? please:D^^?

  • Doxex the second song is The Prisoner by D.O.A.

  • TO OIREO!misfits and dead kennedys? they are hardcore...who ever the fuck you are..you must be listenin to new metal..remember this was the fuckin 80's scene of punk rock!! i bet those are the only bands you know cause i remember minor threat sounding less hardcore than dead kennedys...so shut the hell up oireo...and i wouldnt judge any of these bands even the least popular ones listed such as NEGATIVE FX because unlike you they have a BAND!!

  • As a piece of documentary filmmaking, it was extremely flawed. It starts and goes no where. It doesn't established story or purpose, and no explanations of what started when and where. The shit flounders around for 30 minutes before you begin to see a weak pattern in the "documenting" of the scene. It was cool as a nostalgia piece, but it's clear the filmmaker hasn't watched many documentaries. Fuck, this was dissapointing. The Dead Kennedys and the Misfits weren't even covered. weak.

  • dead kennedys and Misfits are not hardcore

  • fuck you. you listen to the fucking dead kennedys and tell me that they arent hardcore. i oughtta kick your ass. misfits too! when they had danzig, they were totally hardcore. so. fuck you very much

  • I disagree, I think that while they did focus on alot of the dicks in the scene they also gave Bad Brains and Minor Threat (the more positive lyrically) bands the time of day. I was a little upset that they didn't mention the other punk bands that were around but not hardcore (Dead Milkmen, Dead Kennedys, Social D, Violent Femmes) They kinda made it seem like you either listened to New Wave, Disco or Hardcore.

  • i love the movie.

  • fuck you punk rock will never fucking die

  • The origianl trailer for this film used music by 2 Austin tx bands , the Dicks, and the next, to promote itself, until TODAY, feb 22, without permission. Not only did they sell out, they USED people to do so!!

  • everyone knows the american "gay"core scene was just an excuse for a bunch of closeted homsexual males to grope eachother in the pit and take off their shirts. very gay indeed.

  • fuck you faggot you probally live in the middle states which never had any god music come out of there you probally listen to you damn emo shit fuck you, any hardcore punk would moonstomp the shit out of you if you talked shit to a real punk

  • WTF is a moonstomp?!?, it's braindead voilent thugs like you who killed the scene, good punk/hardcore first and foremost is about ideas and making something tangible out of them.... shut your stupid mouth and go play with your peircings/spiky hair dipshit

  • to bad a real hardcore punk doesnt have peircings and spiky hair you young dumb fuck, you dont know shit, 60% of the shit i said up there is music refrences and obvisously your not hardcore cause you would have picked them up, and i dont kill a scene by following it, fucks like kill the scene by talking shit on the people that follow it so fuck off and suck your own cock

  • I agree with ya bro. Punk rock is more than a mohawk and combat boots (I will admit I am guilty of wearing these) -- Punk Rock is an attitude. Not a Hot Topic fashion statement. To whom ever giftskate was yelling at, shut the fuck up before I shove my boot so far up your ass that I'll be able to polish it with your tongue.

  • Giftskate.... you got owned.

  • Good times. I don't have to see it....I lived it.

  • its not a bad thing to make a movie about real hardcore, itll show these kids in todays so-called "hardcore" scene what real hardcore is, you know.... not fighting invisable people....

  • dude and inhale/exhale,Zao symphony in peril are not hardcore freak

  • Oops, Freudian slip? I meant to write "documentary" of course. :}

  • hhh

  • it makes me mad they made a major motion picture out of something that i consider to be the only thing true and real.... aof in a fucking sony movie i dont know man it just seems like all these old punks who used to have a sense of purpose and who used to be doing something radical want to fucking cash in. fuck you henry rollins and every other burnout trying to make money off a precious thing. im still gunna watch it though thats what pisses me off the most haha

  • HAHAHHA, that's a good thing. Not EVERYTHING is evil and etc. This is NOT a major motion picture, this is a DOCUMENTARY. A cocumentary depicting and explaining your favourite genre of music. Be glad someone finally did. They didn't make this to "cash in" at all. Don't be so naive and presumptuous.

  • I definetly see the point and agree. Was a good fucking movie though. but at least this documentary was acurate as hell. I'm fucking sick of those "Punks Not Dead" shit face documentarys featuring green day and my chemical romance. Punk is fucking dead. It's all I listen too, but it's fucking dead.

  • you cant say something is dead when it doesnt have a definite definition. yes, what they do NOWADAYS is not punk rock. well. if you think about it, they're still popular like the sex pistols were in the 70's etc. but they arent hardcore. in this movie they set aside sex pistol like punks against HARDCORE punks. anyways. im keeping it alive up here in the northwest. fuck the new pop shit.

  • You also gotta dig deep -- Punk Rock is definatly still around. The Casualties, Copyright Chaos, AAA, to name a few. As long as there's pissed off teenagers that like to drink a whole lotta beer and are willing to ruin their eardrums, Punk will always be around.

  • I'm a very pissed off teenager who loves hardcore. Who wants to start a band with me? I'm being serious. I know it sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm for real. When I saw this movie I got so angry. Not at the movie but at the world. This totally changed the way I think about everything. But I don't like to drink.

  • No, you sound like a fucking poser.

  • FAG

  • This is gonna be amazing. I can't wait till this movie comes to chicago.

  • do you happen to know when it releases in chicago? i haven't found out yet

  • Can't wait.

  • Awsomeness
