This is an outrage! I will not stand idly by while my brothers and sisters are being burnt at the stake! You people are monsters and should be ashamed of yourselves. your all going to corn hell by Corn God's smiting.
@DCsportsTalk Used to be a huge Redskins fan, before the Colts came to Indiana. Back in the days of Larry Brown, Billy Kilmer....I think they are going to cause some problems for a lot of teams this year. Let me know how the corn turns out.
It's MUCH easier to trim the leaves to 1/2 inch from top of cob and leave the silk on while cooking. Let stand for a few minutes after cooking and then peel. The silk falls off.
Can't wait to try this tonight. I do have one quick questions. At one point you said they had been on there for about 7-8 minutes, but didn't say the total cook time. Is there a proper cook time or signs to let you know it's cooked long enough?
@TheMsdarkmetal Great question. This was literally the first video I did...not well done. Anyway...over medium heat...it is a good 30 to 40 minutes...the corn turns dark yellow and will wrinkly just slightly. It's a touch thing.
If anyone is interested, this method is great, just make sure it's yellow corn and not the white. Done it tons of times now and it's always a hit. It comes out so sweet and delicious that it doesnt need butter or salt.
@BBQMyWay, Thanks. I used a grill that couldn't melt butter, and left them on for like an hour, only cuase it wouldn't get hot(Not My Grill), I took them off when the husk were pretty chared, They were a hit, didn't need butter or salt. Sweet and delicious, the corn was perfect. Thanks again, truly the best way to grill corn.
if anyone is watching this video right now, please reply to me and tell me how long and how high the heat. My kids are fighting and yelling and I can't hear a damn thing. would really appreciate it. Feb 6, 10:30 MT Thank you
NICE, I like that the irrigation system was going off, made it seem like the guy is down to earth at his home doing this as opposed to a cooking show. NICE video.
When I roast my corn on the grill I soak the ears in water but I don't never remove the silk. I kick my charcoal grill up to about 550 degrees and roast them under indirect heat for about 30 minutes turning them after 15 minutes and when I go to eat the corn most of the silk is gone and the corn is sweet and tender. Take care!
No no take it take it like a champ. That's a fuckin compliment. I'ma bout to grill my corn right fuckin now so this vid well... is BOSS. I got this girl coming over and I'm a grill that shit with the ears on blow her fuckin mind do it all fancy like. BOOOOMM! Home run.
after i move grill to medium heat how long do i keep it on before i turn the corn over? then how long on the other side? please get back with me asap we are grilling in a few hours =)
Using the iPhone's "end of the world" ringtone as an alarm for grilling, always imparts a rather quick bee-line for the grill when sounding off. Just stopped in for a side to smoked cornish game hen on the Weber (...over the weekend). Thanks for the advice (again) and I'll be back with what came of it.
It turned out AWESOME! I made it last night ont he charcoal grill with some hardwood charcoal, I soaked it for 30 minutes (didn't have the time for 1 hour), and made sure to cover it back up real good. It turned a darker yellow. I must say, I've never had such good sweet corn! THANKS!
this is grilling. barbecue is a cooking method that implies the long, slow, indirect cooking by smoking of food under 310 degrees. invented to eliminate connective tissues in tougher meats and to add smoky flavor. Grilling, is the exact opposite in every way except for the outside part. It's high, direct heat used to keep the shape of tenderer foods while still caramelizing the outside. good technique
I tried to comment earlier but it didn't seem to work. Anyway, do you put the grill's cover on when cooking these? Probably a dumb question, but I'm new to grilling... thanks.

Also, grill the corn the day you get it or the next at the latest, or it loses it's sweetness.

Try add Pam spray then cover the husk and grill it, this will get your corn golden brown and the taste is out of this world.
