This was the Supremes' first session for Motown. Wanda Rogers a decade later recorded the song for her solo debut, which became "The Return of the Marvelettes."

None of the girls in the Marvelettes were ever in groups with recording deals before they performed at the Inkster High talent show which earned them an audition at Motown. At the talent show, they billed themselves as the Casinyets, which was a word play on the phrase "Can't Sing Yet".
