  • ¿What show is this?

  • @DhangoMicheli It's from a pilot called "Treasure of '67".

  • i looked it up - it's a shimmy dress - you can still buy them ...

  • what was the name for that style of dress ? they should bring it back ...

  • At 1:45 ... was the bass player trying to ask the dancer out on a date?

  • @dondro5749

That's the one I had my eye on! Funny, others have commented that in other clips.

  • @dondro5749 No, he told her to move over further as she was out of camera shot.

  • he was so hot!

  • They do a lot of hopping.

  • Ain't that Goldie Hawn dancing in the front right?

  • @howardc4290 Nope, although she was a dancer.

  • @howardc4290 No.

  • I think its very cool how the beginning of the song kinda appearers out of the past on the TV screen with the scrambled signal and mild audio distortion to become crystal clear and in color! Blew my mind when I first saw it...The 60's lived again...if only for a little while.

  • Very entertaining. Love the GO GO girls ! Man, this really takes me back..When I first viewed this video a few days ago,, it was like a time machine that took me right back to the 60's and the Dick Clark show where I first saw the Raiders on BW TV. This was one of those songs that got inside your head and wouldn't leave! Thanks guys for the great song and memory's.

  • Thanks for the video. Oh what memrories - I was in grade school when this was out - boy did I have a crush on Mark Lindsay - that dark hair and ponytail! Of course the raider outfits didn't hurt either!

  • Haha....Where the action is.....

  • Wow this looks great for its age. We didnt have a color Tv back then, only a B&W. I Love the song ! Thanks for posting memories of my childhood. I remember this from the days of KFRC 610 am in San Francisco , me with my tiny AM transistor radio. They just dont make great rock n roll like this anymore. Thanks for posting this.

  • @UndercoverObserver yay...remember the radio wars between kfrc and kya? and the sounds of the city on ksfo? i miss those days

  • @brabon1 ....KFRC, Channel 91, COLOR RADIO!!! Those WERE the days.

  • goldie was a very good go go dancer

  • God this brings back memories. PR&R was my favorite group mid 60s, loved everything about them, superb talent, great music, happy, lively, cool revlolutionary period costumes, and kick ass anti-drug song to boot. Far outclassed the Beatles IMO. Should be in RRHOF. Mark Lindsay went on to a good solo career, but wish they stayed together.

  • One of my favorite songs and I LOVED all of Paul Revere and the Raiders --especially

    MARK LINDSAY!!!!! (CUTIE ).

  • Actually that is not Goldie Hawn in front. She was just a dancer on the show.

  • @ohiomaiden Goldie was a gogo dancer before she broke through on the "Laugh In" show. I think that might be her.

  • @behryman I'm pretty sure it's not her. But you can see her dance on Hullabaloo (color clip) when The Raiders does "Ooh Poo Pah Doo".

  • @SixtiesPopGold I agree - Charlie was in the line-up 67-68, that's when Goldie was in a sit-com called Good Morning World.

  • I loved Paul Revere and the Raiders! Mark was the best singer and the best looking. Why can't we have music like that today?

  • How cool is this video? Is so great to look back and seeing this reminds me of how great these guys were and especially this song, one of my favorites. I was about 14 when this was aired and loved it then and still love seeing it again......... SK

  • Wow! This sure looks like one of those "colorized movies"

  • Mark Lindsay, good looking young man with a great voice. And a 60's song that was "anti-drugs"??? Wow!

  • Great song and clip!! A young Goldie Hawn in front I see!

  • this is before women had to look like they spent 6 hours a day in the gym

  • How come I hate Paul Revere?

  • @dabrinx Cause you're a dick weed?,,, i don't know

  • Handful of hits, but Mark Lindsay's pretty damn good, in those days if you were a group, your lead singer needed to be, or you no get on el radio.

  • I always liked the gritty flavor of this tune; but I never saw the group; and it's downright weird to see them prancing around in white tights and high boots

  • @blueyedboymrdeath I read that Dave Clark came up with the idea for the outfits.. all part of Americas answer to the British Invasion going on in music at the time..

  • Great dance song! Mark is smokin'

  • Now this is music; not that crap they have now

  • Raiders without Drake/Harpo, Smitty and Fang? Nahhhh.

  • Mark Lindsey is such a great vocalist. He puts so much feeling and inflection into every word he sings.

  • They had a pretty good TV series back in the day. Kind of like the Monkees show but with much more talent.

  • This is my favorite song, and the go-go dancing makes it even better. Can you imagine the lead singer trying to concentrate with that beautiful dancer right in front of him?

  • Is that Sarah Palin in the red go-go dress?

  • Comment removed

  • Great tune. 1st anti-drug song ever.

  • awesome!!!! love these guys

  • GrrrEat STuff man. I loved these guys. We even did "just Like Me"

  • The Blondie has the quintessential 60s look. I think she was Mark's g-friend at the time.

  • Love the blonde in the red go-go dress.

  • Cool vid.

  • I love the colour version! Thanks for posting! :)

  • Really enjoyed these guys. Like the guitar licks.

  • Do know the meaning of this song

  • @susan53ful the first anti drug song........ it became very unpopular a very short time later.......... LOL

  • January 7, 1938: Happy Birthday to Paul Revere!!!

  • What a gorgeous man Mark is.

  • Hey these guys are ripping off justin Biebers hairstyle!

  • @NSA666999 I think Bieber ripped off from THEM!

  • Love to know what is the pilot show.

  • @billysings Dick Clark was looking for a group to use on his upcoming pilot for a TV show to be called Where the Action Is. After being recomended by Clark's secretary, who had seen them perform in California, The Raiders were hired, along with Linda Scott, Steve Alaimo and Tommy Roe. The show premiered on ABC-TV on June 27, 1965.

  • @jeep5253 Hey, thanks so much! I watched that show so many times as a kid that I'm surprised I didn't even think of it as the pilot. Truthfully, I got a bit tired PRatR were on WtAI so often.

By the way, I recommend Paul Revere's show in Branson. Very entertaining.

  • If any song would be their signature song it would be "Kicks". Still hits hard and rings true over four decades later.

  • This song was originally rejected by The Animals. Proof positive, that one band's trash...is another band's treasure!

  • Before anyone asks, the blonde dancer is NOT Goldie Hawn.

  • @darrinbaker00 LOL that was what I was going to ask....Kind of looks like her.

  • Great song Great video. Mark was hot then he's hot now. It should be a sin for anybody

    to be that good looking.

  • @SassyificationMs ...oh yessssss

  • Ha Ha Darrinbaker00 I was wondering that. Kind of looks like her.

  • song was the 1st anti drug song. they were a good band I loved them on "were the action is".

  • LOVE THE COLOR!!!!Thanks for sending me the message.YOU ARE AWESOME.

  • Mark Lindsay was a vastly underrated vocalist!

  • Yeah, great song from a good band. The girls are dancing better than the band in this video.lol

  • thank you
