For anyone wondering how Satele Shan (that's her name & yes, she's an ancestor of Bastila Shan) was able to literally handle a lightsaber blade, it's a rare Force-ability called Force-absorb.  The more commonly known variation of this ability allowed Yoda to reflect lightning back at Count Dooku and Vader to deflect Han Solo's blaster shots. But to directly absorb energy, the user had to have an affinity for it.

Some may think its gay those sith can lose against normal republic soldiers, but consider that while there are many of those sith it is unlikely that more than a few of them are capable of the skill seen in the star wars movies. They are probably just simple, mass produced, light-saber wielding soldiers - nothing special.

@DylanSpringsteen44 Those aren't Clones. They are just Republic Citizens either Recruited or Drafted into military service. The Armor Design for the Clone armor probably came from origional specs of Old Republic Military Combat Armor.

@LeisureDrawer It's an MMO you can only push the graphics so far before the average computer can't handle it. That was part of the reason WoW overtook prettier games like Everquest, even my shit laptop can run WoW. If your building a mass market game do you want one that requires a top of the line graphics card that only a fraction of the target audience can get or lower end graphics that still look good but that most computers can run standard?

@BJKasowski i think it might be because the sith back then were not the same as the one's seen in the films. there were thousands of them, and while the ones like Darth Malgus were powerful, the ones the soldier takes out probably weren't. Although they do have lightsabers, they might not be well trained enough to use them the way a powerdul jedi/sith would. Just a guess anyway. And i assume he's a pretty good soldier anyway?
