you seem to be dealing with a pyroclastc volcano which "spits" out pyroclastc matirials or pyro-clasty such as pummice and other igneous rocks muck like mt. Saint Hellens rather than oozing lava like the volcanoes in hawaii which harden and compact to create sedimentary rocks such as sandstone and basalt which can then deform through heat and pressure and reform turning into a metamorphic rock "meta" meaning form "morph" meaning shape thus the great rock cycle... mountain go BOOM BOOM

I'm sorry for disappointing you with the aestethics, but the volcanoes will shape after it's width. The lower width the more coned. You got a very wide volcano and the lag is cause because you have another volcano in action as well(you even mentioned it).
