Haha, they had to edit the part where the camera froze. :) The camera software is always hard to program, and often the last thing to be finished. This was perhaps an early model. :)

Desire HD is nice but a little too big for a daily use phone imo, seems like more of a showroom/showoff phone honestly. I'm probably going to get a Z, only wish they'd made the body more like the Legend, full metal instead of just the aluminum backplate, and made the switch that locks the backplate lock the hardware keyboard shut instead. Apparently the hinge is prone to wiggling, though I haven't used it yet myself, disappointing if true since one of the best things about HTC is solid build.

I suppose all you can do is compare: iPhone 4: 115mm x 58 x mm x 9.3mm DesireHD : 123mm x 68mm x 12mm ( Desire is taller, wider and considerably fatter ) iPhone 4: 137 grams DesireHD: 164 grams ( Desire is considerably heavier ) iPhone 4: 420 mins talk time DesireHD: 320 mins talk time ( Desire is considerably inferior ) iPhone 4: 960 x 640 DesireHD: 800 x 480 ( Desire display considerably inferior ) I wont talk about apps etc, just leave you to reflect on the above.

Just looking at the Evo 4G, same sized phone for US market with 4G. This has the 1500mAH battery, so why would HTC remove it for the European phone? The Euro phone doesn't run 4G, so why has a smaller battery been added?

The answer is simple, weight. The weight stats look better, which when you consider the HD to be such an enormous handset, looks better to potential buyers,

So, we have a larger phone, larger display using much more power on Android. Android is known as a power drain any way, so what they doing adding a smaller battery?

Takes some messing about to review this device, cetainly not a simple handset to use.

The display looks poor. Why would they make a screen so large and not give you the latest Super Oled or Retina displays?

At first, I wanted NExus ONe but Google failed to get the product known. Then, i wanted Evo 4G but I don't want to go against Sprint Customer Service so bad it sounds.. So, i hope T-Mobile will get the HTC Desire HD. Making T-Mobile being able to spread their network more in the USA cause of those 2 phones. If you want keyboard, Desire Z [ T-Mobile G2] is your choice. If you want a Evo Substitute , HTC Desire HD is your choice... So either way , this benefits T-mobile ALOT!

If you do have a screen so big, you have to have a top class display. It's a huge shame the display on that doesn't even come close to say Galaxy S or iPhone 4.

I just look up some info on snapdragon, next year there could be 1.3 ghz to 1.5. Imagine HTC Desire HD but with dual core 1.5 ghz or more. Wait next year and you got yourself a God phone that will be an envy for a few years. Nokia N8 already is introducing 12 Megapixel! So by next year as competition on smartphones get intense, you are going to get your hands on phones of 2011 far superior than those that came out this year. I mean far superior, not just littleimprovements like last year.

Consider its compact design, too, which is considerably thinner and smaller than the desire but has better resolution, not to mention its ease of use. Aside from Apple's stupid restrictions on its products, the iphone4 is better than the desire in every aspect, even though it was months older than the desire. When the next iphone comes out, the antenna problem will be fixed, not band-aided.

@dankaren95 You can't mention ease of use as a point for the iPhone because the Desire family is still easy to use with HTC Sense and the Android OS. You also forget that for some people--- even people like me with small, dainty hands--- the smaller screen of the iPhone 4 VS. Samsung Galaxy S I900 VS HTC Desire HD is a turn off. Then, there's also the fragility. And if compared to the Desire HD, it also has a smaller MP camera.

@ladyhalyn Oh yeah, I am very well aware of all the cons the iPhone has. What I hate the most is its restrictions as Apple traps everyone to its iStore. Without its innovation and slick design, the iPhone is a piece of crap. You are very much correct. Plus, its partner AT&T is a slob. That's why I plan on sticking with Verizon and wait for the HTC Desire HD to be available. I just have to deal with its not-so-very brilliant resolution and thick set. @dankaren95 Add the fact that you can't replace the battery, that memory is not expandable via MicroSD (the internal memory is large enough, but for trips where you may have to use a computer without iTunes or you'd just like to get a single file stat from the phone memory), it doesn't sound too practical. Nor is syncing with a computer with iTunes but isn't yours to add music, images, etc. Also that you can't copy and paste, erase, or forward individual messages same as with the 3Gs.
