I was on a cruise when the boat tipped sideways, all the water came out of the pools, and I almost lipped on the deck. It was the scariest moment of my life. I'll never forget it. If I was that scared when it only tipped, how do you think these passengers must feel
id be like '' AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH' :)
GIRL DIED IN 1993, A MAN BURIED HER IN HER OWN home when she was still alive. The murderer chanted, "Toma sota balcu" as he buried her. Now that you have read the chant, you will meet this little girl. In the middle of the night she will stand at the side of your bed starring straight into your eyes. She will suffocate you... like she was suffocated. This story is sadly true. If you post this 5 differnt timesshe will not bother you
There obviously was no power to the propellers from the engines, for the ship to roll like this. Also, a helicopter filming along side would also indicate the ship had sent a distress call. Either that, or the pool was too full and swishing about a tad......
@davetherave7 in serious weather like this the engines and stabilisers are turned off.... the idea is the ship rolls with the waves naturally and there's nothing to fight them; the ship is also position correctly to ride the waves, it will be taken off course, but once the storm has passed they can easily make up for lost time
@slapmyfunkybass, it is extremely important that the engines remain running in a storm. The ship motions in this video are a result of loss of propulsion due to waves breaking to the bridge, which resulted in parametric roll and a rollercoaster ride.
If nothing else, the propulsion power is used to keep the bow to the wind. Otherwise the ship will turn broadside to the waves and there would be a risk of capsizing.
@Reduxalicious, the difference between loaded and unloaded drafts in passenger ships is very small because the "cargo" weighs next to nothing in comparison to the ship's weight.
@Axmedkoole, obviously you know nothing. Engineers don't "use" multi-million dollar ships to "learn" things. Also, ships under construction don't leave the shipyard.
@tupsumato I thought they might have had advance notice of the coming storm & evacuated prior. UGH. They are actually still all on there? Excuse me while I ((((Barf))))) lol

This happened February 14th 2005 while being operated by Spanish tour operator Iberojet. There were 700 passengers onboard. The ship was traveling from Tunis to Barcelona when it was hit by a huge freak wave about 60 miles from Menorca. The wave hit the bridge area and knocked out electronic equipment and also caused both engines to fail temporarily.
The ship has now been repainted white and is still operating as a cruise ship and is still called Grand Voyager.
The ship appears to be a mid sized cruise line. Capsize or not this voyage definitely looks scary. Leaving on a mid sized ship from NYC to Bermuda sunday. No storms forecasted. Great video to make you want to just get on board !

That plus it looks like the captain got caught running a parallel with the sea. You can see the ship somewhat stabilize once he gets the ship heading into the sea, which is what you have to do in stormy waters with high seas (waves).
That's why in storms you always see ships crashing into the waves, to keep the ship upright.
