My brother Luis haves this syndrome. He is 21 now,and he is really nice with me and my mom.He is so caring,and he still lives with us.Even tho he haves the "mild" down syndrome.He also haves stuttering,so sometimes it's hard to understand what he means when he is talking. (sorry for my english,im puertorican) But i love him as much as he loves me,i don't care what people say. :)
i believe that they they can concur anything they want......there just like us:) and they have a heart to........and they spend everyday of there lives living it to the fullest!:)

I think it is a great video. It is too bad that some people even need to know the obvious, that everyone belongs and deserves to be, we are CREATED equal and it is only what happens afterwards that can ever change that.

In 2007, I found out that my aunt was pregnant with her second child and that he would be born with Down Syndrome. I don't know why, but I thought and expected myself to treat him differently; not in a bad way, but in the aspect of feeling sorry for him. I wouldn't have wanted him to enter the world any other way. I absolutely LOVE and ADORE my baby cousin and his birth has taught me the true meaning of loving unconditionally.
How uplifting! It seems that people who are born with a condition like this tend to have the most incredible spirits and ability to rise above and triumph. It seems that conditions of this sort produce humans of truly inspirational stature.

He never judges people, he never gives up. He's our little super hero. I love him more than anyone can ever know. A touching video, I don't think there was any need to mention a god though. There are many different levels of mental disability involved with Downs, here you are making them all seem like regular people and fail to acknowledge that their condition varies. You have to take the rough with the smooth. Life is not as glossy as the video implies.

i sorta feel like most people treat the mentally handicapped the wrong way. they dont need to be babied, they need companions. if anyone has seen "up syndrome" its exactly the way i think the mentally handicapped shout be treated. loved, listened to, treated like they have nothing wrong them. it seems as though people with downs syndrome enjoy being treated as a normal person the most, not like a baby. i may be misunderstood, watch the video up syndrome to kno what kind of relationship i mean.
These people were BORN with down syndrome. It's like being born with your colour of skin, or hair, except Down's Syndrome is a little more rare. People pick on other's with Down's Syndrome to make themselves feel better, it's exactly the same as racism.

you know I was watching 7th heaven they had this epidoe about special needs adults all living in a house and the camden's were helping thwma and I thought they were excellent and the secret life Tom is great. Once at camobie lake part I saw a girl with DS and I just thought she is an angel shes just so innocent and pure, they can do wonderful things.
This is great! I have a special sister myself with DS. She's wonderful and amazing and we love her so dearly. Kids with DS are so special and great. We had some kids at my high school with down syndrome and people made fun of them. I think that other people should learn to respect people with down syndrome.

my daughter is 5 and has downs.what annoys me more than people staring is people who come up to her in the street and treat her like a puppy or a dolly saying how cute she is.shes not a fuckin puppy shes a little girl.

My favorite part is around 3:00. My DS son is happy, sad, clever, caring, delightful, goofy, affectionate.... all that. and of course, super-cute.

A small number have severe to profound mental disability. The incidence of Down syndrome is estimated at 1 per 800 to 1,000 births, although these statistics are heavily influenced by the age of the mother. Other factors may also play a role.

We had some kids at my high school with down syndrome and people made fun of them. I think that other people should learn to respect people with down syndrome.
people with DS are so wonderful and sweet and I wish that others would want to get to know them better before making any judgements.

The reason they have downs syndrome is because they have an extra chromosone. This causes their almond shape eyes, and other things that make them looks similiar :)

my little brother with down syndrome has a voice too. a very very loud one in fact lol. people with down syndrome ARE an inspiration. down syndrome children are the best gifts life has to offer.

After seeing Gov. Palin last night talk about her perfect boy and how she will advocate for all families with children who have disabilities this is a beautiful portrait of why she loves her baby and feels so deeply. I have a daughter with DS and love her with all my soul - she has brought challenge yes, but so much depth and joy that the challenges have become my passion... and my growth as a human being beyond what I could have imagined. She has been our gift.

at my old skool, there was this girl named katie and she died at age 13 from a a breathing disorder and pnemonia. she had down syndrome.
