@NickyNick227 Because from ecruteak city, the paths split. and anywhere you go from there, pokemon will have the same level, and it's up to you if you want to defeat pryce first.

to think of, you won't find trainers with level 30 pokemon until blackthorn city i think.

yes, johto programmed underleveled pokemon for the sake of unlinearity. bummer.

sucks that that darn Poliwrath confused you TWICE and then tried to put you to SLEEP...but looks like Red Gyarados came in handy ^.^ It especially helps against Steelix and Piloswine and well everything else too! Sure makes things easy!

I was wondering, is the battle with Red even possible with this challenge? As far as I remember the highest non-legendaries only reach the 50s in Mt Silver, 30 levels below Red's highest level.

I have no doubts it's possible. He does start with Pikachu, who is more than perfect for setting up and sweeping.

Any ground types capable of using Hypnosis or something? You could then switch to something with Belly Drum or Swords Dance and win. Can you teach pokemon old moves, like Move Tutor or Heart Scales? Cuz snorlax would be great with belly drum.

Oh wait, you can just use Baton Pass.

I think you're overestimating the wild pokemon's base movesets. Nobody is at a high enough level to even have Baton Pass in its starting moveset.

Clair is quite a bit harder. Can't say anything about the Elite Four as I haven't made it that far yet, but I expect it to be hard because I'm going to abstain from using legendaries.
