Very clever, wel done! I am almost 50 and starting again control flying, with the seat,i can fly til I am 120! perfect.I also working on a project. I have nobody to hold my plane. So anothe way, exept the "cabel release mech.) is I make a littel drum on my handel, and a 3rd thin cabel wil control my r/c carb.So I can increase the power of my engine, and ofcourse deccrease if landed.I dont know,if its already invented, because i am new to it,anyway,it wil make it work. .Must stil make my polikarpov!
@vexviper Hi VP, The "nanny -state" govt. ,Top to Bottom , straight down through the education system doesn't promote much in the way of thinking abilities anymore- sadly ! Handwriting is no longer taught in lower grades. Personal responsibility is now nearly a lost art. Please continue to enjoy flying if you participate in that & please enjoy the videos as there are more in the works ! Thanks Bob & Tom
Great idea for those who are no longer as healty as they used to be. I flew CL when I was young and am once again interested in taking the hobby back up. Great device, keep on trucking!!
@BikeMeAustin Hi BMA , I've tried to respond quite a few times in the past 3 mos. but the reply would not post ! ! ! Thank you for your interest & comment about the Pilot Seat . Recently we've tried flying 1/2 A's w/ marginal success but w/ the right conditions and some adjustments we may be able to include the smaller sized airplanes in this activity . thanks ----- Tom & Bob
@thepilotseat Hmm, wonder why it would't let you reply?? Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. I'm moving up to bigger planes so should be ok. I'll keep an eye on your channel and pm you when the time arrives-thanks again!
@flightoftheunknown Dear UK , Constructive criticism IS welcome. My guess is that you are either very young and /or in very good health & may not be acquainted with the loss of activities that you value due to an illness or handicap. There is no necessity on my part to defend this device or what it has accomplished for its users, however out of consideration for you I give you this response. Thank you Tom & Bob
@Pilotsofer Dear PS This is a field tested & time proven appliance . I strongly suggest that you view ALL the videos & consider the health status of the users & then consider carefully the benefits the folks received being enabled to resume their sport . And, if you have something better I'd like to hear from you again. Thanks TOM
@Trolleymoose Imagine THIS------the quality of entertainment you could derive from your hobby if YOU ,in this case U--control flying , if YOU are disabled or partially so and can't participate !!! Think carefully about it ! Thanks Tom
Hi TOBEY , We tried to reply a few days ago but it didn't go thru so here it is again. Thanks for looking and we're happy that you enjoyed the video. There are 5 other videos to to see with the chair in use on youtube & thepilotseat web site. Please enjoy . Thanks Bob & Tom
Thanks for the "look see" SD . Check out the web site for more info & videos . We've tried to reply for several days but comments haven't posted. Thanks Bob Tom
hey i think this thing's great. Don't call me fat and lazy either; i'm 22 and run 2mi a night. When it comes to flying rc though.. i don't know why but i just can't stand (pun intended?) standing around watching my plane hundreds of feet above me. I usually sit on a log or car hood at my field/park while flying now. I will be considering one of these sometime in the future.
Hi There D MAS, We appreciate your interest & comment about the chair and understanding that using this device does NOT make a person of lesser merit for taking advantage of a way to KEEP US FLYING !!!!! Thanks, Bob & Tom
Hi MANI , That's correct . Most small engined aircraft can rotate the pilot & the seat with no problem . At present we are trying out 1/2 A powered models------ So far -- So good ! Thanks for your interest, Tom & Bob
Hi Axebrands, Remember engine offset, rudder offset, raise lines clear of weeds & gravel, slight out turn of airplane from center of circle, takeoff DOWNWIND---then centrifugal force will take over quickly and you're flying !!! Bear in mind, these methods are based on wheeled airplanes taking of f from the ground, mostly from grassy fields. See more details & videos @ the pilot seat web site. Thankyou for your interest. Tom
Dear Tamiya Ex., You've made an interesting observation; we all have the same amount of time alloted to us day to day , week to week etc., however the WAY each person uses that time is the important thing. Consider this---You have an activity that you REALLY like to do, then you acquire a disability that stops you COLD. Then--- this guy with too much time on his hands makes a device available that helps restore YOU to your favored activity. Thanks Tom
Hello, I am new to the world of RC planes, and just recently did I learn about Control Line Planes. I stumbled upon this vid. and think that you and your brother certainly have made a unique and interesting tool, this chair!
By the way, (noobie question) how do you land a control line plane?
Hi p--mo, We appreciate your encouraging comment and are glad that you(stumbled) on to our splat. The chair is meant for RC'rs & Control liners alike. There are more detailed videos & more being added soon on the pilot seat web site including how to land a CL plane---With RC & CL, the one you SEE the other one you SEE AND FEEL through the landing. We've seen a number of folks able to reactivate in a sport they enjoy. Thankyou for your interest. Tom
Hi there EnglishHenley, I thoughtabout your comment for awhile and... you're right! The lack of comfort however is by design allowing for quick response time for sticky airborne situations,(quick exits). It does work well as a computer chair at a tall desk and at a drafting table also at an in-home lunch counter-----many other uses!!! Thanks for your interest, Tom
neat little chair mate, full credit to you for this, its apparent some healthy and some unijured are quick to Hack on you and this seat, but i know 1st hand from disabilities how much support this can give a person by just looking at it, so to all the Nocker,s dig this and dig it good, the difference between injured and the uninjured is, the injured dont give a Fk about how the uninjured fly planes, so shut up so we all can get out and play, without the sour grapes, well done Tom !!!!
Hi barnfresh60 I've tried to reply but the site didn't post. Thanks for your observation and the credit---Half that credit belongs to my brother Bob. Are you able to fly at this time? If and need more info. about the chair e-mail me and I'll try to answer any questions you might have about it. Thanks again, Tom
Hi tedd909, In a word--NO--! This video was done to showcase the chair in normal use but not focus on the airplane. There was a crash last year because of a design flaw in the plane. There have been no difficulties associated with the use of the chair. There more comprehensive videos on the web site Thanks, Tom
The pilot seat allows folks who have been sidelined from physical activities for various reasons to become physically active again in the sport they love. Please go to the web site and READ, see some videos then you will UNDERSTAND the PURPOSE of this device. Thanks again Tom
your ineptitude is outrageous typical shoot first ask questions later.......what a first class muppet. for those that can't walk for whatever reason what a great idea!!!
Wow, promoting the obesity of America. You do know that a third of America is overweight right... and you do know that obesity is caused by sitting on couches right? We already have McDonalds and all of these other shitty foods, we don't need some stupid chair for flying RC airplanes.
Dear HELICUB81, If you had bothered to read the spec. sheet about this device and its application you would understand who it is designed for; control liners ,RC'rs and many others NOT characterized as overweight and LAZY. Thanks for your interest. Tom
Dear CAITY23, I tried to answer your inquiry several times but the comment didn't post to the site, hope this one does. The pilot seat is useable with a variety of physical conditions however assistance may be required during its use. The chair can be adapted to the needs of the user. For its intended purpose, this chair is easier touse than a wheelchair. Take a look at the website. Thanks for your inquiry, Tom

If I was 'balance impaired' this is the last hobby I'd be engaging in, with or without a chair. What next, epileptic butchers?

What a great invention !!
Does this chair equipped with some powered rotating system, or it is rotating just by the pull from the aircraft ??
Very interesting!
Invention comes from laziness, doesn't it ??
