It wasn't necessarily a racist comment. In saying he is 'as english as english can be' he does not exclude black people from being english. However, If you traced back his family tree, it is possible that all his ancestors have been english for hundreds of years. however, if you traced the family tree of a black person, you would find african descent relatively soon. not sure what point i'm really trying to make, maybe I'm just bored

What a silly thing to say. Beijing may have put on a great show, but that was it...the farcical officialdom, the poor attendance at many events, the lack of an Olympic atmosphere outside of the events. These are all areas we will top Beijing with ease. It's not all about the opening and closing ceremony it's about what happens in between that really counts.
